    Police Cars

What kind of different cop cars have you guys seen in person? A few weeks ago I saw a pt cruiser cop car in fullerton, it was odd looking. I drive by cal state fullerton and they have a few corolla parking police cars..lol. Not my idea of an intimidating vehicle. :D

Crown Victoria (Police Interceptor Edition) and Chevy Impala for the most part. They're configured in just about every permutation, from very noticeable (in full police car trim) with the "ram" bar in front of the bumper to very, very stealthy looking ones (just like any other passenger Crown Vic or Impala) except these have clear LED's embedded into the headliners or LED/Strobes embedded into the signalling devices. I've also seen a few Camaro's outfitted for Interstate cruising. These would probably be the most difficult to absolutely distinguish between passenger and Police.

I have also noticed a new trend whereby impounded cars (by various police departments) have been retrofitted with lights and sirens (stealth retrofits).... not a good trend as far as easy recognition goes.

Hehe That's like having a Corolla cop car in the US. The only thing it would catch is honda civics. I've also seen the PT Cruizer cars.

I've heard Hawaii gives their officers an allowance to buy whatever car they want as a cruiser. Can anyone from there confirm that? Now THAT would be tough to pick out the cop car from the rest.

Crown Vics, Impalas, Caprices, Explorers, Camaros, Dodge Rams, Ford F150's and F250's, Ford full size vans. This is New Orleans after all. You need the suspension clearance on some of the roads here.

he might not have been radaring.........he can't right you a ticket if he can't prove how fast you were going and probably didn't feel like wasting his time.

they have to have it locked into their radar gun..........you can ask to see the gun. my uncle is a cop and tells me all the stuff they have to do and what they can and can't do.

However most people don't ask to see, cuz they probably know the cop is right.

Last time i got pulled over the cop put me in the car while he wrote my ticket, he said i was going 78 but his gun said 74. My uncle said i coulda fought it in court, but i just paid the ticket and said the hell w/ it.

Not in my town... A kid i know got pulled over 2 days in a row on the same street by the same cop last week. He was going down a hill and the cop was comming up Both time the cop guessed he was going 46 in a 30 without any radar. Even when most people fight the tickets they get the fine dropped to $75 but not the ticket, or insurance points. They dont even have the cop show up at the court, he just writes a statement which a cop from the town reads to the clerk magistrate. The cop from the town represents all of the police so there is no chance of getting the ticket dropped for a no show. This is not good for him because hes gonna lose his license for 6 months since 2 tickets when your under 18 is a 6 month suspension. My friend got 3 tickets, and is looking at 1.5 years unless he gets the last one dropped.

You can ask, but that doesn't mean you'll see anything. Matter of fact, unless your speed is outrageous, you probably won't get to. If the officer deems the situation "dangerous" for any reason whatsoever in his notes, (traffic volume, speed, weather, etc) nobody has to show you anything. This is a misinterpretation of case law. All the cop has to say under oath in court is that
    A. His gun (if used) was proplerly calibrated using a tuning fork prior to your reading.
    B. He deemed the traffic stop "too dangerous" for you to get out in traffic to return to his vehicle.

That's it. As an agent sworn under oath by his state, his word holds much more weight in court than that of you complaining you didn't get to see the radar.

we got a pt cruiser that looks like it came right out of the 50's with the done light on top its cool looking. we have a few trucks. a f350 superduty with a full custom bumper solid steel and other goodies. a few exploders. mostly crown vics and chevy crapiece. some dare cars are cool. they have a custom chevy 1500 from a drug bust. and a few powerfull cameros and mustangs. and of course some junky ford windstar and chevy astro vans. eewwww.
i have seen a bmw cop car before in miami and a corvette. but not around here in ohio. the cops beat up thre cars enough. most cop cars around here bumpers are all broken from them parking in the street. i see them running into eachother all the time to parallel park
the cops parked next to the university parking deck and they never looked to see what they were doing. dumb. but i guess its not there car.
