    Looks very sano job!
Is that glare I see?

So how much for the retro, assuming that I could come up with the projectors? Or how much to replicate the whole shebang (if headlamps were given to your friend Liep)?

BTW, I'm assuming that you disabled the DRL's. Which method did you use? I would like to have a switchable (on/off) high-beam DRL like the Camry or ES300. I know you've done something like that before. Want to explain?

wow, didnt think i would get this attention.

the labor cost depends on the projectors you want retroed in what housing.
liep gets alot of questions about retros but hardly anyone one actually commits.

i say it was def worth the money!

i have some cleared corolla S headlamps for anyone that ones a set for their retro 110 shipped. let me know.

yes i have modified my DRL setup... i have high beam DRL ... like the IS300.

beam pattern pics.. not great pics since my battery was dying but heres one:

The inside chrome is painted black, the reflector was painted a transparent red to make it look like a darker amber, like the USA TYC headlights. Also the silver projector shroud was custom by Liep.

they were OEM Corolla S headlamps
painted Titanium (Graphite) Wheel paint from Auto Zone with clear coat (700 deg)
ring was found at omedepot my liep but had writing all over it soi found a ring without writing at lowes...bought them and sent them to liep.
yellow in my high beams are yellow high beam bulbs
thought about adding yellow sleeves inside my high beam reflector...since that is what im doing to my fogs to give it a gs400 , is300 look
bulbs are 2075 deep orange bulbs plus the thin translucent coat of red on the orange pieces on the reflector gives it a deeper orange... looks great at night.

    www.hidretro.com/page22.hrml

yellow bulbs im using are the Krpyton Show bulbs...im not too excited about these but they are some of the better ones i have used...hats why im thinking about adding the yellow sleeveto the high beam.... only got them since the bulb is actually painted a yellow coating and looks great while my DRL is on.

yellow sleeves that im using i got from www.suvlights.com >halogen bulbs > H4/9003

they have an open end to let heat escape.

while i dont really care for the trim rings used (i worked in plumbing for a while and recognize the ends of a compression coupling), and i could do without the PVC parts used in the back. (same thing, just bugs me seing plumbing stuff like that.)

    BUT...

i love the light output. great project. good work.

i love the project, great idea, they really should put out some projectors that are actual quality for this car........

.... i just dont like the silver ring around the lense in the headlight :( maybe something else could be substituted and create a better look? good work, great light projection.

yeah if it bugs me i can take the headlamp apart and try to crack off that trim, but really its not bothering me as much as it was before.
looks better in person gives it a distinct look, plus its awesome at night,
    cant go wrong with s2ks

also price was around around 350

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!! THE LIGHT OUTPUT!!! IT'S SO NICE!!! AHHHH!!! I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WAAAAAAANNNNTTTTTT!

When you said $350, was that the cost you paid for labor to have them retrofitted?

Let's see... I'm thinking of getting the new 2003 Projector Headlamps and I want to retrofit the S2000 HIDs into them. Do you think that would require the removal of the "angel eye" halo around the headlights? If it does, then it won't be worth it to do that. Then I'll just end up getting a new pair of headlamps with my discount direct from Toyota.

    So assuming, I understand everything:

2003 Toyota Headlamps (a pair of housings only) - $362 (full retail price) + tax

2004 Honda S2000 Projector Headlamps (includes almost everything minuse useless items like turn reflectors and stuff) - $2,483.24 + tax

    Labor - $350

TOTAL COST OF HID RETROFIT: ~$3,000.00 USD

Hmm... SuperCharger or HIDs....? HEHEHE GUAHAHAHHAHAHAHA.... BOTH!!!!

you think angel eyes are more important then awesome light output the s2k projectors give? :-X and on second hand no, i dont think the halo will need to be removed.

    no that is incorrect
    toyota headlamps used 100
damaged s2k headlamps (projectors are in perfect condition) 200
    labor 350
    Total damage 650

projectors can be found for as little at 50 a pair
    not s2ks though...

    check ebay

The angel eyes aren't a big deal. It's just that if I buy the S2k HID projectors, I'd still like to keep the angel eyes anyway. If removal is required, then it's pointless since all I'd end up with is a white reflector and an angel eye on the high beam. Too much $ for nothing.

Wondering where you got your used headlamps and stuff. It's not exactly everyday that I come across damaged S2K headlamps. Even junkyards rarely have this stuff. That's why I had to go straight to the source for my pricing. Did EVERYTHING come from eBay? Or did you simply wait patiently and scrape everything together little by little over a period of time as they became available?

    actually both...

All came from eBay but i had to wait for deals to roll my way

    do an ebay search "s2000"
and then choose the ebay option for lighitng >headlamps only
    ;)
