Be sure to unplug your battery before you start messing with wiring.

I don't have much else to say beyond that, since I've never cracked open my dash. I thought somebody needed to say that, though. Just be careful and good luck.

I did mine it was hella easy

As far as the wires are concerned I took the Metra Toyota wire harness and the Headunit harness and solder the wires together keeping in mind that u must match them according to the feature written on the wire instead of matching them by color.

Also make sure u disconnect the negative terminal of the battey before starting the diy.

See when putting in a new headunit it comes with its own wiring harness. To save alot of time u buy a Metra wiring harness for a Toyota it looks like this:

buying that will allow u to plug in ur new headunit wiring harness to the factory connections which u will see on the back of ur stock headunit.

    A diagram might help:

Pioneer 7600(wiring harness)-------------> Metra wiring harness------------> factory harness

there is a short video on crutchfield that might explain this

okay rookie rule number one u dont have to disconnect ur battery terminal. take ur time and dont break anything on ur dash. number b the wires are goin to all match just dont connect any of the blue wires just cap them all off. letter 4 if u want u can connect the illumination thats the orange wire w/ white stripe, other than that cap everything except for ur black red yellow both purples whites greens and grey they will all match up perfect to the harness that u bought. just wut ever u do DONT CUT THE STOCK HARNESS, and worst case senerio go to ur local best buy and they will charge u 51 for the install, it should take an hour at most if theyre not busy.

i hate best buys. Advertising free installation. So i go to get my head unit i bought there to get installed and they have to charge about 50$ to remove the stock radio. Thats not exactly free installation.
