thoughts on my new TRD filter

installed TRD drop in filter...... it's a really good filter... gas pedal got a little more stiff, as i can now feel more power wen accelerating, i would say about 2 HP gain from it... REV a lot higher now... waste a ton of gas tho.. =[ that's only downfall, hehe

    overall i give it a 8 out of 10
got it at toyota dealer for 65 bucks

Yes, i bought the filter about a month ago... i love it. i also feel a little more behind the pedal :D ....i also like the little pshhh sound when u tap the gas...the best way to hear it is open the hood and pull the throttle body itself....it sounds great!!

Uhhh, if you like it just because it dose the pshhhh when you tap the gas, then you wasted your money. Because the car dose that even with the stock air filter.

IMO the TRD filter is a waste of money, for the very little ammount of performance it gives you. The only reason i would ever buy it is because its resuable, but stock filters only cost like 5 bucks anyway, and you dont have to replace them all that often either so ya.

Frankly the TRD drop in doesn't gain any horsepower to speak of.....perhaps 1 or 2. I have one in my sweetie's car so I'm not knocking it. The main reason for purchase was for a tiny bit more power in the high RPM's and I'll never have to buy another filter. If taken in that regard it's still a good choice.

In the long run buying a TRD drop in is a good investment. You might not get that much performance from it but there is a little. Plus it still keeps the car quite, you save gas, and you dont have to worry about changing it out.
