this is true.........but when lowering a car you spend around 150-200 for springs then eventually you'd pay about 600 for struts when your stock ones wear out. that's 800 right there and you have no height adjustability.......which is something that's important to me. Also if you're willing to spend 1600 on wheels spending 1200 on a very good suspension system isn't much.

your car is never gonna fly anyways with anything short of forced induction, so suspension is where i'd invest... when you don't have to slow down as much, acceleration becomes less of an issue. ;)

I'd say it's a good deal, you're paying more for the springs, but that installation price is pretty darn good.

The TEIN SS coilovers will cost alot because of what it is included. I cant wait to get mine, I will be ditching my TEIN S. Tech springs when it comes out.

I wonder what makes the Hotchkis so loud? Is it the high spring rate in the rear? I've never heard so much as a pop from my TRD's.

my guess right now is the progressive nature of the springs. the rears at one point are wound very close together, and im guessing under load they compress and rub together cricket leg style.

im thinking im going to try and get some rubber in there....

True, the TRD's have a linear rate in the rear and the coils are not compressed all the closely. They also have a very heavy powder coating on them that might help to absorb noise.

The rubber idea sounds like a good plan.

yah the rubber. if u look at tein s-tech springs, they have a rubber pad on it. i was htinking its for that purpose. oh and iono if u guys notice but the hotchkis springs are hella heavy compared to stock springs and i htink even the other springs

Man, I live in MN and winters are a bitch up here. I won't be lowering my car because I have to get through the snow. I've seen Civcs here that are lowered and act like weak snow plows during the winter. Not to mention I'm a daily driver. Plus you add in the risk of corrosion from the salt and that makes my wallet cry.
