    gauge upgrade

    Help! 2005 S
I want to upgrade my gauge cluster.
Stock speedo only reads 110 and tach redline is too low for mods being made.
    Any suggestions??

as someone who has made mods to justify the need for exceeding the limits posted on the existing guage cluster, its not necessary. 115mph is plenty fast for top end. I've made SERIOUS modifications to my suspension, bearings and such and I'll tell you if you go faster than the car specs call for even with some of the common aftermarket parts available you're going to have serious problems above 125...

yep my front windsheild cracked at 130 mph and the ride can get a bit scary unless you have adequate downforce in both the front and the back of the car. thats one of the few reason why my car is so low. mine 01 S marks 110 and I tell you the needle just passes the mark and continues and is scary at that speed. you will need a really good suspension and have everything bolted down.

You can take off the rev limiter on the tranny and the gear selection system but thats really risking it.literally

having good tires, taking off the rev limiter with a computer and the tranny limiter allowing the car to change at 7K rpm or more depending how hard i hit the gas and really the car could have gone faster when i installed the NOS but the engine gave out before i really push it to its limits 130.4 mph at 4K rpm and in 4th gear/overdrive. this was using my friends g-tech pro and having my other friend follow me in the (accord(that one will hit 154 mph max on a really, really, really long stretch of road.after 135 it takes a while but it will hit. I have no idea of you all know this but the corolla is capable of hitting 141 max with the way they are as it is just remove the limiter. the toyota designer told me this when i was in houston.

Why do you think it says Blown Motor under my sig.

by the way if you are really serious of upgrading you gauges go to Dakota Digital they are expensive but well worth it. just very expensive

    Just returned

I just got back from a 1200 mile journey to OHIO and back.
At 110, no mods yet, the car is stable.

Been faster in other cars, used to race, with and without suspesion mods, I could handle some speed.

Just wanted to know about upgrading the gauges.

    Thanks for the info.

I drove from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon to Los Angeles, CA, and then to Gaithersburg, MD and then back to my hometown and that was 6500 miles.
