OK I do not know anything about car audio.. Help plz!!

I do not know anything about car audio. After reading many posts, I read things such as high range, mid range, low range speakers.. I guess this has to do with the pitch and how well each speaker does it? If i read correctly, I understand that midrange is good for the rear? and if I want a sub, its good for it to be in the back?

I also read that the front speakers in our corolla are garbage? Is this true? They are 6.5" speakers? are the back trash too?
I notice that the stock system isnt that bad but the bass on the songs are kinda distorted and sound really good on other songs.. i guess its the type of bass... correct?

So If I wanted to replace my stock headunit, and not buy speakers/subs/amps yet, could i do that and everythign be ok?
though i know sooner or later i would expand and replace.

Im going to have many questions.. I hope you guys can help

well if you were to just replace the cd player you shouldnt have any problems if you dont turn it up to its max becase the aftermarket one will give out more power and eventualy blow the stock ones but thats if you blast it 24/7

The biggest improvement would be some components for up front (components: a set that includes the 6.5 speaker, a dome tweeter, and a crossover) and maybe some aftermarker 6x9s for the rear deck. Then you might want to go to a new head unit.... Then when you get some money saved up go for the sub/amp combo!

unless his car dont have the 6 speakers w/ the tweaters in the door corner i wouldnt see why the need for 2 or 3-way speakers in the door cince u already have the highs pointin right to your face,

and from what ive heard from experiance if u compare a 2 or 3-way 6.5 in speaker w/ just a 6.5 in speaker the one that dosnt have the tweaters and all the extra load on it makes much cleaner midrange sound and higher freaquency bass, so if he ever added a sub or two he would have the low bass from the subs the high bass from the doors and the 6x9's and the highs from the tweaters from the front pilar and the rear 6x9's

or if iam just waisting my energy and he dosnt have the 6 speaker option w/ th tweaters then i would just buy some really small tweaters (like 15 bucks a pair) and mount them there anyways, plus if the tweaters are in the door then when ever ppl are sitting in the seat (inlcuding the driver) ther feet and legs would totaly block the crsp sound that the tweaters make ( totaly making the whole reason of having tweaters pointless)

yeah them just get some good regular 6 1/2's when u plan to replace the stock speakers so that you can get some good range of tone and sounds for your music, the tweaters u have in the door are just fine for the highs,
