    Wire tapping?

    Good day guys!

Im kinda new to the idea of wire tapping here. I bought a pedal with a neon light and my problem is I dont know where I should do my wire tapping. I know red goes to red and black goes to black as what the diagram shows. But the thing is Im hesitant to and how to tap at all. Can anybody here me here? Thanks. :)

well it looks like im in the same boat as u people....i also bought blue glow pedals and also a blue indiglo "T" emblem for the trunk.... my idea is just to use the cig lighter/12V outlet in the console box...to hide all the wires....i went to radio shack and bought an adapter that u could connect the red and black wire to and then stick it in the outlet..... also i bought a switch, that i will be hooking it up with.....but i am not to sure if i could connect both the pedals and emblem together on the same circuit with the switch and adapter...i will be doing this "experiment" next week when im home from college.....anyone else have ideas

Its simply easy to wire you can basically whire to any red one they should have a constant 12v. As red goes to red and black go ground. if you want u and put switch in red to switch to red and have a switch
and BTW to be more secure i would recommend you on buying some of the connectors to connect the wire if you gonna cut it complete off. use connectors and simply crimp the wires

When you say ground, do you mean I can just like connect the black wire to any metal part of the car or do I have to tap to a black wire for it? And also whats the safest place to tap a red wire? is the cigarret lighter red wire a good location? he he he he he.. I know this is kinda dumb to you guys but I just wana make sure. :)

    Thanks again

I just put the red wire into anything that comes on when the headlights turn on automatically. Basically, just cut any red wire running into something like a dash light that turns on with the car's headlights, and connect the red wire from the neon stuff and reconnect those wires. The ground wire can be run into any black wire in the car or to any metal piece in the car...the only time you really need to worry about where you ground something is when ur dealing with very very small voltages (like an Air/Fuel guage) or high volatages like a sterio system.
