Dude i though u have a website where you sell those joints. So how it is that you got your in the Mail. You know what i mean. One more question. How much will the TRD help the engine and how much u think it will coast to get it installed.

yes.. i sell those.. but.. i don't keep them in stock, specally parts like this (too expansive to stock them)... normally when i receive a order.. .. either i have my vender drop ship itfor me or have them ship it to me first and i'll ship it out once i receive it..

it'll give the engine about 30 to 40% horsepower.

Every company charges different, so it can cost from 400 upto 800 dollars to install..

TRD says 170HP with the supercharger.....that's at the crankshaft, not at the front wheels. It would be plenty to entertain me!

i belive it should make about 140 to the wheel... but than.. that's without any Cold air intake, exhaust or header.. if all those are installed.. it should make about 190 to the wheel

well if you look on matrixowners.com there are people w/ header, header back exhaust, s/c, and they have had their a/f ratio's tuned (basically what the unichip will do) and have 169 hp at the wheels, and that's a 5 speed. the auto had about 160 at the wheels.........you're not gonna benefit that greatly from a CAI because the new intake tube TRD supplies has a CAI effect, that's why i'm estimating about 175 wheel hp on a 5 speed

It looks like that intake tube would fit on the OEM air filter box. I was going to make one, but if I can buy one.......
Any idea if TRD sell just the tube?

it's made to go into the OEM airbox, but i don't believe you can buy it separately.

    no they didn't...

that's why i'm going to install unchip with the supercharger.. that way.. i can bypass the TRD ECU piggyback

$3000 for 40hp seems silly to me.

You wouldnt think that once you had it on the car. Look at percentage gain not total gain. If you put a supercharger on a v-8 truck you gonna gain a lot more power than 40 hp but still about the same percentage and no one questions it.

just under $100 per hp. A custom turbo will be about the same specs. But the good part is its much esier to extract power form a turboed engine than this peice of garbage 1.8L thing we have in na form!

throw a 10 lbs pully on there and then he should get closer to 185 - 195 hp with all his other mods to the ground! Then he will be more worried about getting the rear end stiffened and the front tires softer.

Or up here in the frozen north, he would be parking the car and buying a ford for a winter beater

not sure. I am talking to anyone who has the following mods

    S/C
    Intake/header/exhuast
    Re-mapped chip
and a 10 lbs pulley on the s/c

anybody that has that should make about 185 - 195 hp to the ground.

Now if you add a couple other speed tricks, namly the coolant bypass you could mabey push the 200 wheel hp mark.

You dont have all that stuff on yet do you? I dont get much time to check out around here. Last I heard you were planning on it but didnt know if it was all done yet.

What's up David, any update on this thing? I'm about to put a SC on my 1ZZ 2002, same one as back in the day.

Haven't seen you around the Bay, I finally made it up here.
