How to change the light bulb for map light???

Does anyone know or have changed the light bulb for the map lights before? I hate the yellow bulb.....i want to change it blue or super white.

I tried to change it by removing the screw by the power moonroof controls, but the plastic piece is stuck onto the roof....and I was afraid I was going to break something...so I didn't really pry hard on the cover. Thanks.

Re: How to change the light bulb for map light???

There are a number of tabs holding it in place. Get a flashlight and peer into the small opening and try to locate them. Then push on it with a flathead screwdriver. You may have to exert some force if it's your first time. Just go for it. If anything, the screw will hold the panel up in place. Tip: Try to do one HORIZONTAL side first rather than going from the shorter side edges.

ok here's my sorta diy lol...

simply unscrew the one screw that is holding the bezel in place
    [IMG]

now squeeze the section between the slide/tilt control and pull down, don't worry about breaking the tabs...they're pretty strong...the bezel should pop out easily
    [IMG]

    bezel taken off
    [IMG]

now its time to take out the bulb...simple grab the bulb and twist it down so the knob can slide through the bracket holding the bulb in place
    [IMG]

now you are ready to put in whatever color bulb you want...the maplight uses 1895 bulbs btw
    [IMG]

hope this helps you guys ^_^

Heh, weird light :p I assume you a.) have a sunroof and b.) don't have mirror lights.

I just have a flush fit light in my car and mirror lights. Mine you just shove your fingernail underneith the lip of the light and pull, it pops right out. No tools required :p
