2003 Corolla S Armrest

My coworker just got an 04 corolla S and when i sat in it i noticed that the armrest did not have the extra compartment...she told me that, that armrest only comes on the LE...is this true? is it only for the 04 or was this true for the 03? i took some pics of my armrest so you guys can see what i'm talking about if it turns out you don't have this armrest...

Hey ZERO.. are those pics of youjr car???? if it is .. then i must say you got one UNIQUE ROLLA.. cuz yeah the extra top compartment is ONLY SUPPOSE TO BE ON THE LE's!!! and that car in the pics is a S.. WTF? haha Looks like toyota screwed up and u lucked out.. the CE and S is only suppose to have one level arm rest compartment while the LE has the double ..

I noticed that too. I wonder if I could get it off an LE from the dealership before they notice!?

zero's car is very unique.. cuz only the S comes in black.. so i HAVE NO CLUE HOW he has a black ARM REST thing! ... WTF??? its only suppose to be on the LE . and the LE only comes in grey and tan.. STRANGE :?: :?

I don't have that extra compartment. But I'm glad I don't because my armrest is at a perfect height, and that would mess it up

oh and webmaster...my armrest is comfortable...its level w/ the one on the door so you do get a sense of symmetry...my coworker's S had the regular armrest and it felt wierd to me

the matrix has a black interior and that lid can unscrew and directly bolt on where the lid is on our cars. I suspect that could be what happened on Zero's car.

Also As I understand it that lid is just not hollow and adds the tray, if you look at your normal lid you will see a few inches of depth on the underside of it. So the actual hight should not change at all if any.

lol yeah it is...but i would never smoke in my car or smoke period...i just use it as a change holder thing

oh and uh stinky...the matrix is not built in the same plant as my 03 corolla...my 03 was built in nummi...the matrix is built at TMMC

tho the pontiac vibe(similar to the matrix) is built there

yup I agree zero! i love my armrest. .i have the LE.. i rode in my firend's S.. and her car felt like something was missing.. and yeah your the only one i know that has that double armrest on a S zero

Damn man! That pissed me off when i found out ours(the S's) didnt have the double compartment. My sister drives a 2003 LE and she got her car before i got mines and i used to drive it. Its so convenent and my digital camera fits perfectly in there! Wonder if i could find a white LE that i could swap with mines...

LOL...i use that compartment for my digicam too!

i have a white LE.. but i'm not swapping it . hah.. unless u wanna swap me your body kit at the same time. lol

wtg art! ... hehe must have drove a real hard bargain to talk 'em in to an armrest only thing i can think of is maybe it came with another upgrade package like the moon roof or something... at anyrate, its certainly unique 8)

What year month/year was your car produced? And more importantly WHERE was your car produced? Some earlier production 'S' models had the two compartment arm rest.. that is until Toyota ran out of their current stock of black two hinged (compartment) armrests. At that time Toyota was able to use a simplified armrest (one compartment only on 'S' and CE models). Also this was a way that Toyota could "cut corners" and basically still offer the same car for nearly the same price.

Also, your white LE most likely has a TAN interior (or grey)... that would look strange (especially in tan).

i actually purchased the car on April 26, 2002...one week after it was built

my car was built at nummi in fremont, california... i have been there and even taken the tour...thats how i got my car's 'birth certificate'.

i guess that sorta explains it...my car is one of the earlier corolla S's built

I have a 2003 black LE with grey interior... i know that is rare...lol... :wink: I bought it on November 9th 2002, but it DOES NOT have the second compartment...the car was built in Japan... maybe this helps some people...i would love to have that double compartment!

what??/? YOU GOT JACKED THEN!! hehe ALL LE's are suppose to come with that. .TOYOTA even advertises the LE over hte other two trim models as having the extra compartment. heh GO FIGURE..

i just got an 04 S and i got the double lid armrest.

Lucky you, my gf and I both didn't get a double lid armrest...
