they missed a LOT of details on that car, unfortunately.

i'm still surprised someone actually grew a pair and stopped saying they were going to do it...they've been discussing that for years. someone shoved a V8 in a second gen, which was able to house it with little body modifications, but no one truly attempted to shoehorn one into a third gen...till this guy did.

why the hell do people do motor swaps into Corollas? because they can. i'm sure the same reasoning went behind this car as well.

I think its stupid that they are installing an engine in a car like that that doesnt even have a tach.....and that they have these teeny tiny brakes.....and it just looks megga stupid too.

heh...i'm not applauding the UNFINISHED product...just that they're the first to do it.

that car should have Corvette brakes(which i know fit...a friend of mine did a full conversion to Vette disks on his cav), a tach, and a stronger tranny...yes, a transmission, not transaxle. i don't think they did that swap. if they did, please correct me...i didn't read through the full auction.

    hrm.

reading through...i see nothing about a RWD conversion(which would be best for the car in its current state), but they strengthened the tranny and added a tach...so they've at least got that to their benefit. a stock tach would be useless anyway...cavalier tachs are pretty crappy. i didn't use the one in the cav because it didn't work...i just learned how to shift by sound.

they still need to strengthen the unibody...first time down the track, that poor thing is going to undergo so much stress it'll never handle like that again.

like they'd get away with driving that on the street? that's a track-only vehicle at this point...i don't care if the seller drove it, that's NOT streetable.

Thats my point.....they have it listed as totally street driveable, and he even says that he drives it everywhere.

Also, if Im reading it correctly, it does not have a working speedometer, has a rebuilt title, and no airbags.

And he says he welcomes anyone to come and look at it, but you wont be able to drive it. BULLSHIT im not driving the car if Im thinkin about buying it. If its so streetable, driving it shouldnt be a problem.

Also, he doesnt list any times, hp ratings, etc,......

The entire aucton is stupid....and it wont sell.

that i can agree with...it won't sell. at least not for what he thinks he'll get.

uh, of course you could...RWD or FWD, that's a straight-line car.

thanks for correcting me, BTW...i was looking at it while at work, and i tend to miss stuff while skimming and dealing with customers.

regardless...they still didn't finish the freaking car.

YEAH, but it's kindof redundant...i'd said earlier that it's a straight-line only car. of course you'd beat it in autox...hell, i'd beat that in autox in my mom's CAMRY.

He says he drives it all over town....probably through the mickey Ds, to the bank, to pick up his 9 year old son that inspired it, etc.

But he wont let anyone test drive it before they buy it....doesnt sound right!

It can't be street legal..technically, you *could* get pulled over for fuzzy dice on your rearview mirror (in FL..not sure about other states), and that engine is a bit more of a vision obstruction...

    falnfenix: lol..the ';)' was supposed to mean a lighthearted/sarcastic comment..but apparently I failed. =)
