Amp mounting pics plz.........everyone i need some suggestio

I'm wondering where you guys have mount your amps..........i got a 4 channel amp and mono amp to put in the trunk but don't know where i want it..........I want to have the more space possible in the trunk after installation.........but mount them behind the rear seat will make some holes in the seat?.......and i've heard that mounting the amp on the enclosure is not the best thing to do..........so can you guys post some of your installation pics plz...

umm no i wouldnt screw them on to the side.. There might be wires or other crap behind the metal.. especially the left side is where the gas tank is .. U dont want to mess up anything.. you would have to make a amp rack or some sort like that.. another option is what i did.. take a look at this thread.

i am in the process of installing my amp and sub in the trunk and will have some pics in a week or two just got to figure out the dimentions first. i am going for a nice clean install with still room for my golf clubs, bowling ball and softball stuff in the trunk. I mgiht end up making a bracket to mount to the rear deck and install the amp up there and maybe the sub in a corner but not sure yet.

what i mean is custom fit a amp rack to your gap that almost every car has in the sides of the trunk and mount the amp behind that

My amps are in both sides of the trunk.. You can use a flat MDF (more secure) or you can Fiberglass the contours (less secure, but more space) Look on the LEFT side

I bolted a piece of MDF to the deck using existing holes in the deck. The amp is mounted on a sheet of aluminum which is hinged so I can get at the rear brake light easily.

These shots will give you a better idea - I did this to my wife's car a little while ago.

I got lazy cause my brother gave me a box for a single 12 inch sub and just mounted the amp to the back of one of the rear seats. I want to do more with it but untill i get all performance things added to my car there is no point in building something i gotta redo in the future. i want to add some NOS in the future and incorporate it into the system and not have to rebuild what i already put hard work into. did that to many times in my last car.

BTW nice job XTM did you take out the spare or can u actually get to it somehow. I want to do a complete custom job in my trunk like you but i drive long distances some times and a spare is a big deal to me. i wish i could mount it under the car like a truck but to much work for me

The amps are being held by 3/4" of MDF that are mounted like "L" position. This MDF piece is being held secure by the box itself.

For aesthetics purposes, you can also fabricate a panel around the amplifier to cover the wires and so the amp looks flushed. This will make it look really professional.

Here's a closeup look of one of the amps mounted on MDF, without the panel cover:

I'm still working on the Fiberglass panel (also BLUE) that will wrap around the amp. I will post pics when it's done

XTM I like how you covered your RCAs with split-loom. Nice touch, gonna have to do that myself now.

AESC do you have cables running to your amp? If so, how did you get them so well hidden?
