    painting dash without primer

did anyone paint without primer? i didnt...is it gonna end up being a problem for me in the long run? it looks pretty nice right now, but i dont want that shit to chip or whatever...i totally didnt think of using primer until i was already done putting back on all the panels...

do u mean the dash itself or the trim?

if u mean the trim....depends on what paint u got.

myself and intel used this paint called krylon fusion or something...made for plastic, w/ no priming or prep needed...and its been a week, and it STILL looks good...so it all depends i guess...as for the actual dash itself..i dunno.

yea das right. we used krylon fusion. anything else might and will chip eventually. my friends painted their dash using regular spray paint, whoa!!!! peeled off as they were taking off the tape. i mean literally, peeled off, not marks left or anything. the fusion paint bonds nicely and guarantees against chips. mines been about month, month and a half, and i'm still going good. hey yin_yang, did u apply the clear coat yet? i'm still debating about that. There are pics of my dash on my car domain, the link is below in my signature.

yea just open the door and pull from the side of the vent. you have to use your nails but dont use screwdrivers and stuff cause it scratches the dash. heres a pic for help

i painted the 'trim' silver...good ole $1.99 paint... some of the paint from the knobs chipped off...but everything else is ok. my dad went ahead to 'touch up' the paint, he just made it worse...whatever tho, ill fix it when i have the chance...
