    Amp or Bazooka tube?

k i put pioneer revs in the rear and Rev components up front, no amp.
its sounds pretty good but its still lacking something
im on a really tight budget here so which should i do,
i can only really afford to do one

profile 60x4 amp for the speakers, or an 8 inch amped bazooka tube?

the amp has a bass boost for all channels that will probably bring up the bass to a level that i would think is fine, but the tube is all bass.

    which should i do?

    thanx for all your help

Depends on what your longer term plans are. If you're planning to build the system up over time, get the amp. Get some subs later.

bazooka tube is a waste of money for our cars. The trunks are sealed too good and it wont please you at all. The only way a bazooka would sound good is if you throw it in the back seat.
I would recommend putting some more power to your new speakers, it will sound really good.

Those "tubes" are garbage. Fabricate a box that will maximize your subs' efficiency, not hamper them.

What exactly is lacking? Music Detail? Clarity? Low frequency extension?

i guess whats missing most is lows, but i could say a little more loudness wouldnt hurt either.

would putting an amp with bass boost in make the bass better? or will an amp in general make the bass a bit better? my HU has no sort of bass boost at all.

also is a 60 watt per channel amp too much wattage for pioneer Rev 6.5 components?

Watch out with the bass boost, I'm not too savvy with car audio so hopefully someone who is bright can help here.. but I blew one of my speakers because the bass on just my head unit was up too much. So, if you want bass, go for a good sub/good amp.

The professional (and right) way of doing it is to HAVE an amplifier drive your mids/highs and subs. The headunit's speaker outputs are NOT supposed to be used, except for "stock" setup.

The HU's "built in amplifier" is no match for any external amplifier.

I say get a good 4-channel amp (if you are running front/rear) to power your mids and highs, and set the gains correctly. An in-dash equalizer is a good addition to fine-tune the frequencies and get that low notes from your mids.

If you still feel that you need more bass (I'm pretty sure you do) You will have to step up to a subwoofer system (single 12" in a ported or sealed box is sufficient) and have a decent amp power it.

Remember: Do not use the HU's speaker outs! Use the RCA line-outs, to your EQ, and from the EQ to your amps! This is the correct way routing your signal.

If you have more Q's just ask

all that sounds great but im on a TIIIIIGHT budget, i dont want to go too nuts with this.

i was thinking of something a bit smaller, maybe a 60wx4 amp and a small self powered sub.

How tight is the budget. Is putting the amp in now and adding subs later out of the question?
