New exterior Light accents. WARNING RICEY MOD!

Well, I was thinking the other day. I had a bunch of old LED bars for spoilers in my shed. I wondered if the LEDS where red or if they where white and had just the red lens over it. If it was clear I wanted to rip them out and use them for my interior dash lights and radio.

Well, I pulled the lens of and sure enough they were red!!!

So I found a better use for them!!!!

I know its a ricey type mod. But I didnt think my mesh grill, and clear corners really made the front of my car stick out. So now ppl really notice. I just hope the popo dont have a problem with it. I have it hard wired to the battery right now. SO I cant switch it off ever. In fact its glowing outside right now!!

The stuff is stuck in that gap in the middle brace for the grill. It reflects off the RAD and then shines forward. It also lights the ground up in the front. I am going to see if I have enough of them to make my own underglow kit with the extra's. They are bnright enough to work ok. I just need more time to do it.

Nice Stinker i think it looks pretty good, hard to tell in the pics, but it looks like the red light isnt very even on the lower mesh stuff. Im a perfectionist so if it was my car id have to get the light to be perfectly center and look the same on both sides u know. But i think it makes your car look like it has a red glowing mouth, makes it look 'mean' i gues u could say.

    Nice cheap mod.

Its just the pic. It really is even. But didnt light up good for the picture. In real life it looks better and much more red, rather than pink.

    looks nice...

yea white LED's are very hard to make and are very expensive (in the world of led's that is)... usually when you try to manufacture white led's they come out blue... if you are really interested in messing with LED's i have a TON of great catalogs with them... my grandfather is an electrical engineer so i got all that fun stuff...

That looks very nice stinky! I love the way a nice lit up grill looks. I can't wait to get my car back after seeing your pics. I just got my underbody kit installed before I got rear ended, so I'm very anxious to see how it looks once I get my baby back!! 8) :D

I really don't mind neons as long as people are good at hiding them. I hate it when you drive by a car that has one laying in the dash... the glow is (can be) cool (if it is not overused or a bad color for the car), seeing the stick is not.

    Derek,

I have a bunch of catalogs for LED's as well. But They seem soo expensive unless you buy in 1000's direct from over seas. I dont need that many.

Can you get me a deal on 20 blue ones? I need them to do my interior accents. I may only need 10, but Let me know what I would look at for price. At the store I get most my stuff from here they want almost $5 per LED. They are good for all the other prices though

    Sounds good.

Like I said, if I was willing to buy them in bulk numbers of 1,000 + then I could get them much cheaper. But I have no use for that many LEDS. I really only need 10 or so.
