    Help me choose a sub

I post a lot of questions, I know.. lol. I'm new to this stuff and I'm trying to figure this crap out.

Anyways, I'm looking for something that will sound good, yet hit hard. I need help deciding what to get. I'm just going to get one 12" sub. Also, should I go with vented or sealed in the trunk of a car? Thanks!

It was a real hard choice between Infinity perfect and Alpine Type-R.
But I would go with Alpine Type-R with that special box.
To me, it sounded better than any other subs in regular sealed box.
It could be just the Alpine’s box that’s good, but it still sounded the best. :D

The alpine is good, but the Fosgate will be twice as loud on the same power, cleanliness is the same between the two

i had kicker, alpine, and rockford subs. all sounded good but i just like the alpine better. as for power my rockfords had about 100 less watts and did sound the same as the others. but i think in my personal preferance the alpines sounded cleaner. but its all up to you go with what you want listen to them and get what you think sounds best.

Rockford is the best so far. I now have to check the stereo store out for these subs. I’ve never tried Rockford before... I know they have huge coils, but I don’t know how they sound like. Rockford sub will be the first thing I’ll check out next time I stop by at a stereo store. :D

HE2s are the bomb! you wont be unhappy as long as you power them correctly... BD500 and 2 HE2s will be SICK!!! just make sure the box is well made, or the pre fab is a fosgate box or QLogic made for fosgate... run that amp at 2 ohms and you will be quite impressed... I

Hehe, I think we are not really helping since our opinions are so diverse. One more thing is that you have to choose the right subs that fit the amp you have.

Don't have an amp yet, but I can get a good deal on this Alpine box w/ 12" Type R... so that's probably what I'll do.

How come JL audio subs aren't on the list?? I say you go JL all the way...maybe only need one JL W3 and your set. All I know is that those subs hit real hard.

Mainly because I'd have to get them at a local audio shop.. and I really don't want to do that because of the prices. I have a while to look now since I just spent all my left overs on TEIN... and  at the same time.
