Is this how to paint Altis grill?

I'm planning on painting my altis grill along with the mesh, but wanted to confirm the way im thinking the painting process would be. First, wash grill and mesh with water and soap. Add primer to both grill and mesh [not sure if this step is necessary]. Then, apply different coats of paint. Finally, apply wax and done. Is this the correct process? You guys think i should just have it painted professionally and save me the time and trouble?

well you have it partially correct. after you prime, you will need to wetsand so that you smooth out everything. also in order to paint, i recomend spraying and i assume that is what you will be doing, because the brushed on paint might look weired since it leaves streaks of where the brush has been going. also what color is your car?? the painted mesh is not to my liking, i like it being black, adds a nice offset to the whole look

yea i like the mesh black unlesss you have the grill insert on the bottom. i painted mine chrome on the bottom, so when i plan to get my grill, i'll paint the mesh chrome too. by the way i have the indigo ink color, so i think the silver/chrome looks good

i tyhink its probably easier to just have it painted professionally...i don't think the paint u buy at at kragen or autozone will truly match the paint of ur car

Looks sharp, something different and unique than everybody else's altis grill mesh.

I guess I'll just have my grill painted professionally since it seems like such a tedious process to only paint such a small piece and the possibility of the paint mismatch.

the gutter mesh in aluminum looks just like that. you get a decent size piece for like $1.60. i bought two and did the lower grille. actually have to cut both lower and upper grille. i think it looks great for the cost and stands out more than the plain cheap plastic black grille insert.
