    2004 Nissan Spec-V VS 2005 Rolla S S/C

Would you rather have a Nissan SE-R Spec V with the Brembo brake package or a 2005 Corolla S with a super charger.
The reason I am asking is because I work with Autonation, and I can get both cars for about the same price so I am wondering which you would choose.
BTW the Rolla would be new

i'd go with the SE-R. more aftermarket support, i guess. and looks better.

I'd stick with the rolla. even though i'd have to agree with more aftermarket support for the Sentra, the Rolla is on the rise as opposedto befor. Also because i now how they work and have grown accustomed to the Rolla and its weird statement in the tuner world.

Personally, probably the SE-R..I'd have to drive both first, though.

SE-R has a somewhat of a rough ride and doesn't feel taught or well planted.

A friend of mine has an SE-R. It almost feels like he barely has control of the car, but then again, it may be the way he drives, lol.

I hate Nissans and the 05 isnt compatable with the TRD blower, so... neither.

I'm sorry, but the Sentra's fugly IMO. Something about it makes me look away whenever I see one. Add that to my bad experience with Nissan cars and you have SE-R as a loser.

i can see your point on that.

That is exaclty what i think or as least for the for the first part, not so sure about the second.

torque steering can be good at times but when you least expect it it may get a bit unpredictable and can lead to something bad at times. thats why i have a switch for my T/C and VSC. So that i can have control

Traction control is also standard on 9th gen corollas with AUTO transmission ONLY (why, i don't know). According to the toyota site, manuals shouldn't have it.

That is weird that manuals don't have it. I didn't see tc as an option when I was looking for my car. Might have just missed that. hummm...interesting.

Isnt the 04 motor and 05 motor for the S the exact same motor?
If it is the blower would work on it. If the blower wont work ill probably go with an XRS then.

    05+ is drive-by-wire, IIRC.

01rollas: To my knowledge, no Corollas (recently, anyway) have LSDs as an option..

From what I have heard here at the local speed shops it that some of the manuals drivetrain pull with both front tires at all times.Allowing the car seem as if though it had LSD, they told me this. Mine was not an option i had it put on when my first engine was getting rebuilt.

I'd go with the XRS it what you call a simple sleeper in a way.

Um... very hard to pick.. 04 SE-R and SC rolla..
    But if it's 04 SE-R and 05 XRS, XRS for sure! :D

on with the traction control discussion...now that I think of it, I've never seen a traction control option on a manual transmission vehicle before. which cars have that option? on a manual personally I don't think there would be a need for such a device.

Get XRS rolla. You wont be dissapointed. The sentra is heavier, XRS lighter. I dunno how spec-v suspension is, but the XRS is nice. The XRS will beat a spec-v from what iv heard, i personally havent been able to race one yet. But from what iv read on 9thgencorolla.com people with XRS are beating spec-v's.

And whoever asked if the 04 and 05 1zzfe motors are they same, no they are not. The 05 1zzfe is electronic controlled throttle. The 04 and previous are cable.

I would get the Sentra but the styling is no where near the coralla, but its not always about the looks. From my test drive with the nissan the suspension is tight around turns and not too bouncy.

P.S. I could buy the nissan with my discount price at 14,000 and only a 99 day warrenty
