Inspired by the lip I got from shyguy...

I've decided to learn how to do fiberglassing to fix the cracks myself then add a little bit to the lip to make it fit alot nicer to my 99 corolla.

These are the pics of the template I am currently making. Hopefully when I finish making the fiber glass addition, I can then re-fiberglass the two pieces to connect them as one.

haha thanks I don't have much choice. I was gonna buy a full bomex bumper but I ran into a snag and got a bill for $1000.00 in the mail for school. So now I have to stick with the lip. Anyways tomorrow will be the d-day for the fiberglassing. Who knows I might get good at it and start making lip kits just for the 98-00 corolla's. Wish me luck and I hope it goes smoothly.

Alrighty, I did the fiberglass project today and there is a good news and bad news.....
I woke up at 7 this morning to get started on the cracks, I got it filled, sanded, body filled, sanded some more and wella. She's good as new and twice as strong. I put two layers in the front and 2 in the back. By the time I was done with that, It was already 2 in the afternoon. So I said what the hell and started on the flare. I got it test fitted first and it was looking good until I start to fiberglass it. I took the template off the lip and started adding layers to it. when dried, I use the dremel to cut the excess and I kept breaking the bits so it took forever to get it cut. When I did, it did not fit right at all to the lip. Then it started raining so I was pissed. By this time it was already 6 in the afternoon and I am beat from wearing long sleeves out in the sun. Now it's back to square one. This time, I'm gonna fiberglass it while in the lip, and precut the mats so it doesn't get thick. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks she'll be done and I'll show you the pics.

i got the mold on, so it's coming along. It's just a bitch trying to make everything nice and smooth. I got a few more things to do, then hopefully, I can just make the body shop finish the rest for me. I'll take pics soon.

well, the lip is now on the bodyshop. It needs to be filled and do more work to make it look perfect. The owner is not sure when he can get it done so it'll be a while and there is a big possibility that it would be expensive when everything is said and done. Anyhow, I'm out of time and I am leaving out of town so I hope it comes out good when everything is finished. I kinda regret getting the lip now, what's suppose to be an easy fix ends up being a expensive project. With the amount I am about to spend on it, I could have as well bought a whole body kit, have it installed and painted. But oh well, another lesson learned. Atleast I got the flare that I wanted to add in there. =( I will post pics when it is done and mounted on the car.
