    M3 Mirrors Light Change.

Does anyone have any clue on how to change the light color for the M3 mirrors.

I have blue ones. I just got pulled over today for illegal lights. So I thought to myself, this isnt worth it, plus, its harder to see with blue.

So I want to change the lights back to amber/yellow.

can someone post a diy or explain to me in processs how to:

    1. take the lights out (the lens)
    2. what kinda new light bulbs / leds i need. specs?
    3. what else? solder? etc.

There has to be a simple way to change the bulbs on those...if not, the bulb burns out, you take the mirrors off your car and throw them away?

When you get the bulb out just take it to a auto parts store and tell them you need the same kind of bulb in yellow.

Wouldn't believe there would be soldering needed. Unless they're blue LEDs in there. Then you'd have more problems than you want, if you don't want to desolder / resolder.

Are these the aftermarket ones sold on ebay?

get some yellow lens repair tape and stick it over the clear part. It should make the light more yellow. But will deff make the lens yellow too.

Or you should be able to pop the lens off and solder in some yellow ones.

    yellow+blue=green=illegal

maybe the guy you got them from on ebay will let you trade them for the yellow ones. probably would want some cash too, worth a shot, probably cheaper than a ticket from the cops now and then in the long run.

thinnk i'd just unplug them for now until you figure it out.

Yeah the whole blue + yellow = green thing crossed my mind too. Since they're LEDs I'd say that there's DEFINITELY going to be soldering involved unless they're ghetto rigged, but I'd hope that this isn't the case for sure! They might be sealed to prevent moisture from getting in though so be careful or you might screw 'em up and get a nice little mist in 'em... which is in my opinion, undesirable!

    They are soldered.

    I found out.

But I still dont know how to get the led's out, nor the mirrors.

I found clips on the mirrors, but they are very stiff, and if I break one of those, the mirrors will be loose.

So I don tknow what to do ... :(

Anyone else changed their M3 mirrors lights before?
