Side Air Bag

    Side Air Bag

    How do you know if you have side air bags? My sticker says i have side air bags .. but looking at the seat .. i don't see any ... i just saw my coworker's civic and it has a SRS pad on the side of the seats... just wanna know if i really have them cuz i'm suppose to ..

    You sure it just didn't say "Passenger Side Air Bags"?

    I don't think the corolla can even come with side impact air bags.

    I don't think you have it. If you did, you'll have something like your friend's does.

    Read the manaul. It has a picture of what the side air bag looks like.

    I know in Canada, all leather LE's have side airbags. On mine there is a sticker on the bottom of the seat (near the recline lever) next to the door

    lol, me too, i got mine with all the options that were available on the CE but we're not good enuff for the ABS and side airbags

    I dont have em either, but ur seat should have a tag on it if u do...

    i could care or less for the side bags unless the car rolls, but ABS would have been nice for the winter

    I believe the side airbag seats look identical to regular seats. When the airbag is activated it tears thru the seam of the seat. That is how it engaged on my '98 1/2 Passat (which died a horrible death!). I think the theory is this, if the side airbag sensor detects a collision worth of deploying the side airbag, you're probably not going to care whether the seat cover gets torn... :D

    hmm i looked in pic of the manual and it looks like it is in the seam of the seats

    Cool... thanx guys...

    it's not like i'll really ever need it .. hopefully .. but it was an option that cost a bit of money (to me at least)

    and it saves on insurance :)

    Actually, it is a good thing to have (side-airbags) because the side airbags deploy when you get T-Boned by another car/suv.
