    Scratched Clearcoat, ?'s

Ok, i was backing out of my driveway and i managed to sideswipe my two plastic trash cans, i know it sounds stupid, but at the time i didnt think it would actually scratch the car so i just kept going. So now i have some big scratches going the legnth of the car and it looks horible, but luckily i just got the clear coat and didnt take any paint.

So my question is, what would you guys recomend to fill in/get rid of the scratches, i was thinking just wax the car but i dont think that would fill in the scratches. Im wondering if there is any product you guys recomend to fix scratches in the clearcoat.

Thanks in advance for any help, it is greatly appreciated

    Trevor

hmmm try using a polish to buff it out... that should work... If not come back and let us knw... Use some force with the polish and should rub out..

my rolla was scratched before i got it, and only noticed it when i got it home. i had a bottle of mcguires scratch-x that i used on my 200sx. on very light, surface scratches, it will most definately take them out. the deeper you go, the harder it is to take out. try it tho, its only like 5 bucks or something at autozone. you just use a pad and polish it on, let it dry for a few mins, and wipe off. anyhow. yeah, it did work on my rolla tho.

sr20det can only be found outside US soil, unless it was either imported or a modified sr20de. the T stands for turbo. so if its a stock USDM SE-R, it's an sr20de.

nice... i hope you still have it. that was my ultimate plan for my 200sx, but with the shocks blown, my rotors warped and needing new pads all the way around, the engine mounts becoming soft...... the corolla was a much better investment. i could have had a very nice old car, or a very nice new car for a little more. i think i made the better choice. i still love the old nissan tho. she corners a lot flatter than the rolla, even stock vs stock. i feel like im gonna skid off the road w/ this thing, the way i drive

Unfortunately I sold to it a real close friend who helped me modify and tune the engine, my Sentra could have lasted for a long time only xcept i couldnt be forkin over 200 bucks for smog and it was about for something different, I might by a 240sx with a swapped in S13 in the near future

.....my plans for this 03 is along tha same lines only I might pull off putting in on of these engines:

    2ZZ-GE (that will be turboed)
    1MZ-FE (N/A)
    2JZ-GE (possible supercharger)

I know several mechanics who might be able to pull one these swaps

I want to do the 2ZZ swap with other people i know including myself, but if i do it, i will need another car so I will have to wait till after college too. The mechanics are cool they help tuned my SR20DET and find the parts for them. These 3 engines are not hard to find in Cali.....the junkyards in Long Beach, CA. alone have yards for each type of car whether it be foreign or domestic. I got a call last month that a Celi GTS was in the yard with tranny and engine in good shpae but I didnt have any place to put it, so I might do some searching later on.

from what some of the mechanics have told me the engine bay of the 03 is really big...but the put in would be a costly expense because will need new motor mounts and stronger chassis
