    ne1 own two cars?

obviously insurance goes up and all that, but ive come to the conclusion the only way ill b able to have something decent performance wise without destroying my pockets selling the rolla and DOWN-grading to something older, lower quality with more miles, is to get a second car and just fuck around with it, Mod it at my own pace , take my time and do it right

im lookin into early 90's 240sx, u can get em very cheap etc etc,

point of this thread is to post any tips, advice on the subject at hand

    so post!

    2001 Corolla(full coverage) + 1991 Cavalier Z24(basic coverage) = payments reduced $3 every 6 months. no joke.

I'm going to have a second car in a couple days (when I fly down to pick it up).
Insurance here doesnt change if you have 2 or 20 cars. Just get charged a basic rate based on each car (public insurnace, monopoly really, but it's CHEAP and good).
As for the second car, I might just insure it monthly, as I dont think I'll need to drive anything in the winter since we are moving into the city (well maybe here and there on weekends and evenings, but not to uni anymore :D

    2003 Tundra and a 2004 Streetbike.
$132 for full coverage on the truck, 46$ for liability only on the bike (275$ a for full coverage)

I asked Progressive (Only company that would insure me on the bike) what the discount would be if I included the truck on the bike policy. (They wanted 475$ a month for full coverage [Truck is still financed])

    It was a 10% discount on the bike...so $4.

With my insurance, the more cars you have the cheaper each car gets. Depending on the cars and, as falenfenix said, depending on what car is your "daily driver" it can go down considerably to the point where it's less to insure the two cars than the one. Also, if you estimate on the low side for your annual mileage it gets cheaper.

family has 4 cars. my 96 corolla, 02 corolla S, 99 lexus rx300, and a 01 acura mdx. The more cars you got and also depends on the liability cost is low. My car and the lexus are in liability and only pay like 500 every six months for my car and I'm 19.

I have a 1994 Toyota Corolla and a 1994 Acura Integra... insurance was $35 more a month when I added the Integra (Integra is now the main car, if the Corolla was the main car, it woudl have been another $17 a month, doesn't make sense, but oh well)... and I pay $287 a month CDN right now for just PL / PD and Fire / Theft on both cars, but I have an aweful driving record...

Full coverage on my 02 is like 1600 every 6 months. It should be lower than that in 6 months, most of my points are coming off and I am taking a Defensive driving course next week
