    License plate screw holes

ok. along with chrome, i just don't want the front license plate on my car. even tho it is a CA law that you have it, i've never gotten a second look from a cop for it. the only reason i'm posting about this is that, i took mine off tonite, only to find two nasty ass screw holes behind there. i mean, i know there was gonna be holes, but it looks like they did such a horrible job putting them in, like they didn't even drill clean holes, just screwed the screws in there. is that how everyone elses looks? also, my friend took his off of his 2000 si, and he was able to get these kind of caps to go over the holes. does toyota make those?

i got lucky i went back to the detail room when i bought my car and he had the front licence plate screw about to go into my front bumper and told him to stop. he said he could not becasue it ws the law here in ohio so i told him i was moving to florida next month so he stoped. hehehe.
those plates on ebay look good thought since you have the holes already.

the ones on the front suck, the look so out of place if the bumper doesn't have a groove like place for them.

I did that as well. I made brackets to center the plate right in the middle of the front bumper. It looks so much better that way, I dont know why toyota didnt do it like that in the first place.

ok. the parts guys said they didnt even make or sell anything like specific caps for that. i dont really care. i did pick up some chrome caps tho. i was a little apprehensive about putting any more chrome on there, but it actually looks pretty good.

even tho i do like the ones on my friend's si better. theyre color matched, and they're flatter plastic, so it doesnt just look like two buttons on the bumper.

in cali u must have the license plate attached to the front of the vehicle. My friend got a ticket coz she had her plate on her dash. I guess it was just bad luck coz i see tons of cars without a front plate. Made me go back to the dealer and get my front drilled for the plate coz i didnt want to deal with cops, tickets, etc.

isnt it a fixit ticket tho? put it back on, show it to a cop, have him sign it off... the most you have to pay is the $10 dismissal. i like the way it looks w/o so ill test my luck. i never had it on my 200sx that i drove for like 9 months
