    CD/MP3 Head Units

I was wondering what a good head unit is that plays mp3 cds too. I have a small budget, i guess 200 max, but the cheaper the better. wat are some good brands, if any.

I got a Pioneer DEH_7400MP. It might be a little bit more expensive but it is definitely worth it. I got mine for $310. I think they may have come out with a different model (deh-740)?? somthing like that. I haven't had a problem with it yet.

check at www.crutchfield.com, you'll find something. Their prices aren't the best you can find, find what you like then find it cheaper.

If your gettinga an MP3/CD deck, try to stay away from lower line products. I had a buddy that picked up a JVC model (entry level MP3/CD) and although everything works as it's supposed to, we noticed that it takes 5 whole seconds to load a song off the disc. It was really anyoying driving up to the cottage last month because there was a pause after every song.

We thought it was a faulty unit but after exchanging it for another (and testing the store model), my buddy found out the hard way.

Anyways, in the end the choice is up to you, but do your self a favor and bring a MP3/cd from home, and test it out on the stores display, that way you know what your buying...

mortis3, meant no dis to Crutchfield, they guys are awesome. Only place I've ever called and told the guy I was looking at a head unit at Wal-Mart and had some questions about it, and he was still polite and really helpful.

When I got my HU it was on sale, so I still came out ahead buying my own harness and install kit. Otherwise it would have been Crutchfield for sure.
