A good set of 6x9's in the rear will give you good bass without overpowering the rest of the system.

Run a descent amp to the new speakers and you will be fine. Just remember for clean sound at low volumes, you want higher powered amps. Not like 1000W but more than 30W. just be sure you have the levels adjusted right so you dont get distortion when it goes up higher.

I was told back in the old days (5 years ago) when ppl installed larger systems that they would tune the amps with classical music. It gave the most diverse sound range and allowed for the best tuning of ALL components. The anything else would sound fine.

    I'll go with Infinity.............for the speakers.........plus 1 x12inch sub.......also infinity.

I have it right now not installed yet........

reference series .......but if you really want to spend more money. go for the kappa series. and one infinity perfect sub.........

    excellent sound quality.

When you look at the specs, then Pioneer looks better than Infinity.
But when you actually hear them, then Infinity sounds better than Pioneer.
The best way is to go to the local store and let them test run different speakers.
People with different taste favor different speakers.

    My favorites are:
Infinity or MB Quarts for high.
    Kicker or MTX for mid.
    JL or MTX for low.

well i mostly listsen to techno and want something that gives me crisp sound. the stock speakers aren't exactly the best. also, i wanted to get Bose, theirs stuff is bad ass, but they dont make car speakers :( u have to listen to my setup at home for our home theater system, u cant get better sound, the speakers alone cost 1500 bux. also going to a store, isnt quite accurate, cuz they place them at different levels and u cant really get an accurate measure of sound quality

Also does anyone have XM Radio, i am seriously considering it, cuz we dont have any dance music stations here in detroit

Hey, techno is my favorite too. My favorite CD is the sound track of Initial D. That's because I like techno and I like Initial D too.

It's true that you don't get the accurate measure of the sound quality from the local stores, but you can at least get the idea of the different speakers' personalities.

I like Infinity and MB Quarts tweeters because they really handle the crisp sound of the techno. When I hear like pioneer and alpine, I don't hear good crisp highs.

I like MTX subs because they somehow match the techno bass. JL is because of the good impact it can give.

There is no way to compare home audio system with car audio. They are just at different level due to the spacial restriction.
