    A crack on my hood...

I'd never thought it would come back to haunt me, but this is what happened:

when I was insalled the ViS CF hood I bought about a month back, the windshield washer holes were too small to fit the OEM ones from my old hood. So what I did was I used a dremel and then sanded the area around it, grinding the fiberglass away until it was a snug fit. On the washer on the passenger side, I was about done, and I guess I put too much pressure on it and cracked the fiberglass a bit. It was a crack small enough that the washer would be able to cover it, no problem.

Yesterday, I just noticed that same crack trailed down from the washer and now it has like a .5in. crack measured from the point where the washer is (that's length, not how wide the crack is). I looked at the crack and it seems all the layers of fiberglass along the crack is cracked. The crack is so small in width though, that nothing would get into it, not even water.

So should I be worried about it trailing down even further? My guess the crack trailed down because of heat expanding the plastic washer. If so, then that should be the stopping point of the crack. Any thoughts?

You could try to fill the crack with resin.

the problem is, they only have like a big big jar of resin available for sale and no tube-sized...i don't need a big big jar, lol. they only have big jars at home depot...not sure about places like pep boys or something...
