    coolest program ever...

*edit*--- added new pro and link...

ok this one is for you multi computer guys who are tired of multi keyboard and mice... its called synergy its basically a KVM switch with out the box... or the expence. what you do is load the program on to yuor 2 or 3 or 4 computers and set it up (the help file walks you through it)... then just start it up and move you mouse to the ege of your screen and look over at the screen for the other computer and then just work as normal...

ok now the pros and cons...

    cons...
you still need screens for all of the computers...
you have to leave the dos window open that it opens up or it will disconnect...

    pros...
    no KVM switch box
control multipul computers with one keyboard and mouse so no clutter
easy as hell to set up
cross platform compatable... say you have linux on one machine and windows on another and osx on yet another... it willl work with all 3
its GNU so its free and always will be!!! <<< thats the best part

    the link

I thought VNC did that as well and it was free too? I use different type of remote software packages to control machines at my job.

There are a few VNC sites like http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/ and others, just do a google search.

I don't see how this is still better than a KVM switch. You still need monitors for all the computers. KVM you don't. Sounds like a glorified extended desktop software to me.

I find this software great when I have my laptop next to the desktop. I can just mouse over to the other one and not use the laptop keyboard. Only use it for a few minutes at a time though, becuase the only time they are near is when I need to transfer some large files quickly.
