yeah, i remember being directed there when i was searching for info regarding my corolla a while back ago. although there are lots of helpful people there, there was too much flaming, it wasn't welcoming at all, that's why i chose to not post. This place, however, is all the good things vvti had to offer w/o the drama, and it also helps that this place doesn't go down for weeks at a time

as of 1:03 AM (pacific time) its back up

HAHAHA...troll...haven't heard that word in a while.

Talking about troll...keep a look out on that GB thread in 9th gen. I have hopes that in a week or two the GB can start (mind you, I love to be optimistic).

Yeah I stopped going to vvti.net...something about that site feels...old.

And the Doc might be on to something here...since vvti.net is always down, it probably has a lot of people hanging. If it gets forwarded here, maybe it will be a bit more rowdy around here :D

What do you want to know? The other board was abandoned by it's admin, it's not taken care of, the front page hasn't been updated in what, a year? And yet the domain owner REFUSES to cooperate with the community. He makes empty promises about taking care of things better.

We, the people, ask for vvti.net to close it's doors and give a redirect to vvt-i.net which IS actually being taken care of. It's madness to have two boards that are as you said "competing". We the people ask for our community to be UNIFIED and PRESERVED!

WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND ONE VVT-I FLAG THAT WE CAN STAND UNDER, INDIVISBLE!!!

All in favor say "aye".

Hey, its taken care of when its up. And it gets just as much traffic as this board when its up.

Dont access the boards for 24 hours, and then check the new post counts. Theyre usually the same.

There are those loyal to their boards...some on this board dont post over there, and vice versa. I just think its stupid to bash the other boards, especially since we're all in the same boat.
It would be nice if the two boards are merged together, but both sides have to be willing to negotiate, and Im not sure if that is happening.

No offense, but original doesn't mean it's better. How much downtime have you experienced? How much did vvt-i.net experience? Comparing them is like comparing sh!t to chocolate. You didn't provide a strong argument in any way whatsoever. You also say your admin team is doing a lot of work, well then how come it doesn't show?

The moderators might have finally gotten their act together, but there is 0% happening on part of the admins.

And that's iAMconfused, that's who that is.

Ok, I'm going to comment here.

Administration is not just being the top moderator or keeping up with the forum happenings. I'm sorry but more goes into it than that.

    1) constant updates and tuning to the backend of the board program from the "end user" side, including but not limited to database maintenance - pruning, optimizing and so on, vBulletin patches, etc...

    2) constant updates and tuning to the actual backbone of the board, the server itself. This is where vvti.net has its GREATEST shortcoming. This is something that you CANNOT interact with as it is the actual happenings of the servers operating system and load. ie, actual database upgrades, system tuning, ram upgrades, hard drive upgrades, load balancing, etc... It is the hosting company's responsibility to handle such things and I'm sorry, the company that currently handles vvti.net has never and will never be adequate. the only solution for this is to move yourself to a better provider. end of story.

......... preach :hesaid .... I mean I don't have any experience being an administrator since I don't have enough experience with deep technology like software programs and what not that this site run with but someday, so far I've only had experience of being a moderator and I like it it's fun but V does bring a good point... is just not the presence, is the work that you do to keep the site running to best of it's capacity thus keeping people participating in the site...
