Mine was done locally but I don't really know the cost as it was figured into the overall cost of the car. It's actually a notch or two above the "factory" job. If you forgot to close the roof, it shuts itself after you turn off the ignition or that can be defeated if you want to park with it open. Shop locally and do some checking.

Hey fgf001: On your moonroof does it pop out of the car when its fully open? or is it hidden inside of the roof? Just curious cause I know the cealing is a few inches shourter due to the moonroof on the factory rolla w/moonroof

It opens two ways. One is it slides back into the "roof" so there is a big hole in the top, the other it opens only from the rear and lifts up, more like a vent. It looks like the factory job and does cut down on headroom a bit. I strongly suggest the wind guard in front of the moonroof. It flat stops wind noise and turbulence inside the car.

The moonroof cuts the air flow (aerodynamic) of the car when it's open so it uses more fuel

They run about 400 installed near me in ohio but they are the kind that tilts up and then just goes back and over the roof so it does not take up any more head room and actually gives more when open hehehe. the cheep manual sunroofs that have two pop up setting or come out are 140 installed also last i saw around fall of last yer. By the way i have had the cheep on my old dodge and it worked great no leaks just had to be carefull when i took it out not to drop it and break it. and the sild up and back i think is fine. my old chevy cavalier had a factory one that tilted up and back and worked great. but like zero i would never get a car without one my wife has a durango and you cant get one in there because of the roof and rear AC and how it curves up. I love my corollas sunroof.

That is a crock. Noise? Yes, I'll grant you that, the windows down are twice as noisy. Mileage? Get real, it may cut 1/10 mile per gallon. You have been misinformed. The roof I purchased has a five year warranty against everything except glass breakage.

Yea its not that big of a deal .. BUT dont under estamate aerodynamics, i live in Petaluma and it is hella windy, one time i was coming home from work it was pretty windy, i was driving against the wind w/ all my windows rolled down, i was in 4th gear @ about 3 grand i was going about 50 -60 and i could not go any faster ,im talkin pedal to the metal! i was like WTF i rolled up my wondows and shot right up to about 80 in less than half a min later!!! so yes aerodynamics do matter but not to much on normal days , just thought i would share that w/ ya folks

i have OEM tilt/slide moonroof/sunroof in my car. i love it! it's not noisy, and about affecting the MPG, it will barely affect it. not enough that u can notice the difference. it's not like going from 250 miles on full tank to 200 miles so it wont really matter. besides, sunroof is cool cuz when it's hot, you can actually vent ure car cuz heat rises, and guess where it escapes to? the roof. but that's when my car is parked

and besides, Corollas w/ sunroof has a lil aerodynamic thing. When you open the sunroof, a little spoiler (or moonroof wind deflector) actually pops up so most of the airflow will remain on top of the car, and not go inside. if you stick your hand up, u wont feel the majority of the airflow until you stick your hand above the deflector.
