hi i just installed my intake today, i noticed it is really loud and whiney for a few minutes until the engine heats up. i live in the north east, is that common for it to be that loud for a bit in the beginning every time i start my car? or is it just because the car is cold?

It is common for it to be loud like that. Mine is even louder than yours, since the noise produced by the vacuum line has a longer tube to resonate in, and since the filter is in the fender, its noise isnt cancelled out by the engine as much.

i am just so surprised by the great sound from both and how much power the car has now! i am so happy i chose the corolla over the matrix

yeawh...corolla is a light car. in terms of performance, you should be happier over the celica also. celica weighs more with the same engine.

actually, our cars weigh between 50 and 100 pounds more.(depending on model). Still pretty close though.

Yeah I think tha Rolla CE and LE are lighter than tha S models

During the initial start in the morning, the intake is always loud. I mean, you can hear the shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh from a block away. After driving it around and heats up, the sound gets quieter, but you can still hear it a little. Just not as loud as a cold start.
