    >_< !! me mad. How come they dont make cool shift knobs for automatic cars???? All they have for automatics are WOODGRAIN (what's with all this woodgrain trend thing???) or carbon fiber looking things. But then again, it would look werid to make such a big/long neon thing for an automatic.

umm they do make cool shift knobs for automatics.....u can find Razo shift knobs or Ichibahn shift knobs on ebay. Only one minor default is u need to relocate tha OD switch :D

    OD switch

That sounds like a little more than a MINOR set back.. I could see that being a huge pain.

ok what is the OD switch??? Ok PSilva10 says it's complicated!!! I like my automatic shift knob (good thing Toyota didn't decide to put "WOODGRAIN" on the knob too, or else i would have to like papier mache it or wrap it up in wrapping paper or even paint the darn thing), but i was just saying why don't they make neon colored ones for automatics, that's all.

    Od switch

The OD (Over drive) switch is the button just below the button you use to change gears with, on the shifter.

OD (over drive) i knew that. I was just kidding. I did really, but with all the complicated things around, i just didn't think it was the over drive. Silly me. Relocating the OD switch... sounds a lil complicated. I'll just to stick to my original ones (like i said before, it's not woodgrain, so it's fine).

hello everyone, as you can see i'm new to this site. this is the first site ive seen that is dedicated to the 2003 rolla. COOL!! i own a automatic, metallic silver rolla S, just like methanes. i just bought a OBX carbon fiber shifter with OD. is there a DIY on how to replace the shift knob?.

i havent done much to my car yet. to make the long story short, i'm in the US army and deployed here in southwest asia. but when i get back home (which should be anytime soon, been here for almost 8 mo.) im gonna have enough money to mod my car. i've already purchased stuff online and got it sent home. I'm really glad i found this site. expect me to post alot of questions when i get back home.

if you guys are interested, i put up a unofficial site for my unit. its still under construction though. www15.brinkster.com/109thmeddet

Its pretty simple dude, im sure... there are 2 screws on the front part on the shifter just below the knob... there's your starting point. If you could maybe get step by step pics while you are doing it, then we could make a DIY for it :).

Hi all, I'm new too. I have a 03 rolla too. Its a standard and i wanna change the knob. Is it as simple as everyone says " just turn it and it loosens then screw the new one on buy just turning it". I know this is probally a really stupid question. Also is the full circular knobs better then the kind of shape that came factory, becase if you buy a aftermarket one that isnt an exact circle it can be crucked. I hope you know what i mean, kinda hard explaining.
    thanks

Do you have a stick or automatic? Cause you have to place the knob at the right position making sure the button hits down far enough, then screwing it in place.
Sticks are easier. Basically twisting it to get it off and on.

Mine is a stick......but what happens if you get a non semetrical one (one like the one that comes stock with the 2003 rollas). What do you do if you turn it tight and the stick just won't center right, instead turns to one side. I hope you know what i mean, really hard to explain.

really? it does that? that sucks. what kinda knob is this? maybe one that is designed for a specific stick?
well...i would take some utility masking tape (the white tape) and wrap some around the threads. don't make the tape show. apply more if necessary to position the knob at the right spot.

Actualy RAZO does make an automatic shifter with an overdrive button on it. Its part # is RA91 and RA92. Pho3nix has the new RACTIVE shift knob, the part # isTK620. You can get that knob with red or blue LEDs. ME LIKE :)
