    My steering wheel is peeling

as most of u know...the corolla S has a leather wrapped steering wheel...mine is in really bad shape...i keep cutting it up w/ my watch :( it bugs the hell out of me when i drive cuz it feels nasty...i'd like to replace the steering wheel...but i'm worried about the airbag, does anyone know anything about aftermarket steering wheels?

This may not be practical because your car will be undriveable for a while but here's a place that refurbishes the wheel to OEM look.

Have you considered the leather wrap kits that cover the wheel? It's a DIY and not difficult. The colors are usually limited but they look and feel good.

i say go to a toyota dealer and have them check it out, safest and most reliable way. so then you dont have the airbag exploding in your face knocking out teeth =)

Yea try and see if ur dealer takes care of it... I read the title and was like wtf that sucks its peeling already ... If not use one of those leather or rubber or whatever wrap u want... You could get those "racing" steering wheels, however they have no airbags....

750 is expensive because according to peter.. its the airbag mechanism thats the most costly part. Makes sense.

    Just wrap it....

The TRD whell is SOOO nice...X-mas anybody?....The ez thing to do is wrap it in another leather sleeve or maybe you prefer neoprene? Adds color if that's your thing. . I'm pretty sure Toyota would tell you that you should have taken your watch to get sized... Generally steering whell covers are a good investment if you wanna' try and keep the stock equipment in XLNT shape.
