    Removing Seats

Will it be difficult to remove the seats of a 03 corolla and install leather on it? Will it be complicated? Thanks.

    Re: Removing Seats

Never tried it myself, but from my experiences removing anything in the 03s is pretty simple (with the exception fo the front speakers), so it should be fairly simple.

Why didn't you just buy a Corolla with leather already in it to save the trouble of having to take your seats out and putting new ones in?? why would anyone want leather anyways?? It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Yeah it's easy clean up and looks classy, but leather gets old and torn after a few years.

hot in the summer cold in the winter? are you talking about vynel because leather breaths much better. Yes its a bit chilly on a cold day but beyond that it actualy is really comfortable and I have never seen an issue with it. (had three cars with leather in the family)

As for why he didnt order it, it is not an option on the corolla in any way. not through the option packeges not even ordering it seperetly

Really? The brochure I got from my Toyota dealer states that a Leather Trim Package (seats, headrests, door trim, steering wheel) is available on LEs.

I'm in Massachusetts, though, and apparently not all options are available in all parts of the country. For instance, the only way for me to have gotten an S without the Sports Plus Package would have been to ask a dealer to order one that way from the factory, and that means up to a four-month wait.

Kind of getting off the topic, though. :) Good luck to your friend. I'd like to see pictures of the install afterwards.

Yah leather is available on the 2003 Corolla... but I think whether or not you can get it depends on the individual dealer.

It is cold in the winter!! and extremely hot in the summer. My aunt has some leather seats, so she put some car seats in her car. Plus leather gets scratched up. Maybe it was b/c we messed it or something. I mean we slide in and out and scratched it up (not on purpose). Yeah, the leather does some on the Corolla, i saw a LE with one. Leather is easy to clean and looks clean, but i prefer the cloth stuff. :D

When I ordered my rolla leather seats werent even an option. I did order the S model so that might have been the issue. As far as I understand though, leather is a dealer addon to the 03 rollas meaning they actualy install it and not the factory. Although some of you do say the LE's have it as an option. Interesting. I have come accross alot of discussions about this topic online and even have read that some of toyotas info that they released was false concerning the leather but nothing documented.

Ok the LE gave you the option of wood trim and leather seats. The S gave you the sport guages,S trim, and charcoal dash.

My experience with toyota was. "I'm not buying the car, unless you put leather in it" so they did.. and I was lucky they did'nt charge me.. but it CAN BE DONE!

    Order Leather

You should be able to order factory leather seats and jsut replace the ones you have. There is one draw back $$$$. Why do you want leather jsut order some nice sport seats. :)

Leather available on LE in Canada

In Canada, leather seats are available on the LE as part of the luxury package (leather, sunroof, auto dim mirror, side airbags and alarm system.) They are readily available here but its hard to find one with a 5 speed like mine..

    back on topic

I've removed my seat before for installing my racing harness. It's not difficult to do it. The seat only mounts to four points. Just make sure you use the proper socket wrenches. Just to let you know, the front two bolts ( closest to the engine ) are on extrememly tight.

    Hope that helps.

like cool_beans said, the seats are easy to get out, takes less then 5 minutes, its only 4 bolts and the seat is free!! Take a look, its simple.
