Engine 4AGE BlackTop or Silvertop swap

    4AGE BlackTop or Silvertop swap

    how much could someone expect to pay to put one of these motors in the engine bay of my U.S. spec 99 corolla?

    what kind of harness work is require to make this thing run right, do you use the 4AGE harness and ecu, or do you have to make a hybrid for it to work right?

    i have a healthy early mourning knock from my main bearings i would assume, and a cracked transmission housing from the rear motor/transmission mount breaking off

    4age 20v is a good motor and everything but it wont fit direct you'll need custom motor mount and the whole 4age ecu,harness and ect to make the motor run properly..oh forgot the transmission wont fit either you have to find 7th gen tranny or you can go to http://www.phoenixtuning.com/swaps.html he did 98 corolla swap a 2zz motor(last pics below).

    if you can source the engine mounts from japan, their version of our 8thgen was still available with an A series engine, it will be a direct bolt in affair. just get the engine with a complete uncut harness and ecu and all you will need to do is to tie that into your existing harness.

    once you source those mounts it should be one of the easiest swaps to do.

    im trying to stay away from the 2zz swap for the simple fact of price and availability, ive looked around for both motors and finding a 2zz with a good 6speed bolted to it is like striking California gold.

    so im looking for a 4AGE motor sourced from a levin / trueno car of similar year in japan and the motor mounts from that car will allow the 4age to slide right in?

    but in case i just find a motor, i can just rob a U.S. spec 7th gen of its transmission and use that?
