What do you think of classic Celicas?

Found a '75 Celica GT with a '74 parts car..the good one has 98k, fresh timing chain, never been driven in snow and came from NC. I haven't seen them in person yet, but he's asking 850 bucks for the pair.

i doubt they are in any condition to be restored.

You think the green one is really rusty also? I did email and ask about rust, but haven't heard back yet..

I don't know how much work is involved until I look at them.

Yes, I have plenty of space. I told my roommate about it and expressed my concern over the fact that I already have 3 vehicles...and she said something like 'if we could find some room for them...'

look where its sitting. the wheels look rusted and there looks to be cancer on the rear wheel arch almost dead center of the rear of the wheel.

and if it truly has less than 100k miles on it... that means it has sat. a lot. and if it sat anywhere near it is sitting in those pictures then im willing to put money on the fact that its rusted like crazy.

If you can check them out, and the green car is solid.....Then buy them. you put some work into it and get to running and driving condition and get it to look decent as well, you can make a nice profit on it. Thats a very desirable chassis Celica, I had a couple back in the days and wished I never sold them. But if you need any help locating parts for them, feel free to pm or email me. But definetly a good investment if looking for a project.

You're going to dish out a ridiculas amount of work and money, but it would be pretty sweet when your done.

dont buy no rust bucket cars but $850 a pair thats hella cheap,good luck on the project.

the green one has potential in restoring and the white is a goner probally has frame damage,so if $850 for a pair and one is $425 each?.

If I had the space, money, and time, I would definitely restore one. However, I would only restore the liftback version which was only available in the US in 1976-1977.

This is what the restored liftback looks like. It's called the "Mustang" Celica.

$850 for the pair is not bad, you can restore the green car and use the white for whatever parts are good on it. Plenty you can do, and if you are doing the majority of the work yourself, you will not spend alot of money at all. The only thing I can see you spending money on is on the rubber seals for the car around the windows, windshield, doors, trunk, etc. I think thats a deal, but offer him $700 for both and you got a good canidate for a project. Just because it has rust doesnt mean it cannot be fixed

since they are obvious of no use to the owner and if one is in decent condition than i would offer 500. one thing you may want to check out is the title and registration through the dmv. if it has sat and was registered wrong, than there could be extra fees. rust is only a problem if you can't do metal work.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with these since they're not liftbacks. Liftbacks are only from 76-77.

Coupes are just as good as the liftback to restore.

i actually prefer the look of the coupes over the liftbacks...

I'm a sucker for liftbacks, that's all. Just like the AE86 hatch.

I like the muscle car look of the lift back too. It actually looks like a small Ford Torino fastback

Liftbacks are nice... I would actually go with any and prefer the one that weighs less.

I'd buy a 76-77 Celica liftback in any condition just to have fun restoring it.
