    Political Debates

After seeing Obama and McCain go at it for the last time last night. What do you guys/girls think?

Did one of the candidates manage to change your mind about who to vote for? Did you lose confidence in any? I guess overall, did anything about how you feel change.

Palin is all charisma, no substance. Hence why I'll never vote for her. I'd rather have a boring yet knowledgeable person run the country rather than a total kook who knows how to entertain.

OT: btw, what the hell is up with Prop 8? I'm offended that I'm even seeing ads on tv trying to get people to vote yes. Right wing conservatists, I swear... Isn't this country all for rights and freedoms? How hypocritical. They all have their private agendas without taking others into consideration.

Youre voting no? You know as of late ive been trying really hard to see both sides of each prop. My only issue with no on prop 8 is teaching young kids that its alright. I have no problem with homosexuals getting MARRIED, but it doesnt have to be paraded around our youth. So while im leaning on no, its a tough one.

Well if you look at it from another perspective you can say that current schools are teaching kids at an early age that heterosexual marriage is the way to go. To be fair, should we ban that too? That's why I'm not opposed. Let everything be taught and let kids and adults decide what they want for themselves. Sometimes there are just too many restrictions to let anyone make their own decisions. I know a classmate who was raised by his gay parents(two dads). He came out as straight as any heterosexual guy. Just because you're offered an option doesn't mean that one will act upon it.

Well wouldnt you say that the natural behavior for men and women is to be attracted to the opposite sex? Again Im not saying dont let them get married, I just dont see it necessary to explicitly tell kids at that age that its ok. It would be better to maintain an open acceptance if later in their life, they realize or decide their gay.

I don't see why it's so wrong if you teach kids both types of lifestyles, both straight and gay. Homosexuality is nothing new. It's been around for thousands of years. Ancient Greece, Rome, and other countries have had homosexuality as the norm in societies for so long. It's only recently that mankind has become so conservative and one minded(due to Judaeo-Christian traditions of Western society until it was turned into something sinful). I say let them choose now. If they're going to pick one later in life, why wait? They'll still end up in the same place.

Exactly. That's why I don't want to restrict people's freedoms by passing this political BS. Sure, they say that there a separation of church and state, but is it really? The lines are so obscure now, that politicians can bend the definitions and try to pass these shady laws. As long as no serious crimes are committed, let the people decide what's best for themselves without any outside influences.

I'm all for Gay marriges, i'm pro abortion, i'm all for stem cell research, I think Atheist are cool. I think science is hella cool. I think there are hella stupid people in America who can't even grasp the simple idea of critical thinking. I see logical fallacies everywhere. I really wish we had real evidence of aliens. ...I like NPR's Car Talk. I Love the original Top Gear! I think Top Gear Australia is boring. I'm dreading Top Gear America.

I don't know what that makes me... I also feel I should vote but at the same time I don't want to vote... Life is confusing...

idk if you guys saw the Joe guys interview with the news...but he sounds like a really educated guy. He says people need to make up their own minds on the election and dont let the news blurr your vision. He supports the war, and says they are doing a good job WMDs or not. He says he hates how the candidates are using them as an example, he wants to be left out.

btw....obama girl is sexy as fuck

He only actually makes around 30000 dollars a year, and will never really be able to buy that company he mentioned. AND HE DOESNT EVEN HAVE HIS PLUMBING LICENSE, HES NOT EVEN REALLY A PLUMBER!!! Not only that the guy is ALREADY a registered Republican.

I don't take what the Republicans do seriously anymore. Their whole campaign and tactics are dirty and ridiculous.

How would it be teaching young kids that its alright? Not voting against this because youre worried that children will see that its "alright" isnt a very good reason to vote against it. I just think thats a cop out.

Pro abortion, or pro choice? Theres a difference.

    Joe Biden?

If I had to choose, i would say pro-choice. But the fact is there is not that much of a difference between the two. the pro-choice group separated into its own group when they decided that pro-abortion gave the word a meaning of not only do you get the choice but you encourage it, which wasn't really the case initially. They, on their own terms, kinda gave it the definition of being extreme to one end so that the pro-choice group looked more neutral. Either way, I've seem many pro-choice type of people in the pro-abortion groups and visa-versa. My whole issue is really I don't want young kids to have kids and later neglect them because they can't afford to do so. I'd rather educate the kids better, let them have sex if they want to even if I may not approve of it but make sure they use proper contraception and them not being stupid.. When I have kids, I want to make sure they are good critical thinkers. LOL.
