    Resonator box!

lol please do ignore my other post...i had my blonde moment :p

but what i was asking was this: is the resonator box the stock air box on a 1999 corolla? or is it located somewhere else?

if it is located somewhere else, is it possible for me to take out the resonator box but keep my stock air box with my stock air filter?

The resonator box and air box are two different things. They are connected to each other. The resonator box quiets down the intake. Yes. Many people remove the restrictive resonator box and drop in a K&N filter in the air box. You can access the resonator box from the fender once the rain guards are removed.
