    Got into an accident.

Well it finally happened... but not in my car. My friend took me for a spin in his AE86 through Santa Susana pass at 12am. We drifted through an S turn and the car snapped back into the wrong direction out towards the turn. He tried to countersteer, but wasn't fast enough. We ended up hitting the curb and knocking over a road sign at 45 mph. It took a while, but we lifted the car back onto the road and limped it back home. The driver's side wheel was pushed back far enough that the tire would touch the fender when making a left turn. My guess is that the strut mount, control arm, and subframe is bent. The coilover unit is probably bent as well, but the shock isn't blown surprisingly. Do you think that replacing the control arm and subframe will fix it? I'm depressed right now even though it's not even my car. I helped my friend build it over the summer. We dropped in an entire GTS rear end, differential, and rear discs and brakes together. It just seems like it would all be a waste if it can't be fixed.

depending on how bad the accident was. i was in a collision with a 300zx once and we fixed the car but no matter how much work was put into it, it now had the tendency to slightly turn left and wouldn't go straight as if alignment was just slightly off. but other than that the car drove fine so yeah.. i think from your explaination, it is fixable..just maybe not 100%

That's good to hear I guess. It's not a daily driver anyways. And it won't be going straight much anyways. It's a track car mostly.

    haha :D what about mine?

the left rear wheel is a bit more out than the right one, so it rubs with the body on pot holes

and shakes a bit driving @ high speeds or taking easy right turns

That's true. We should have gone to the track instead. It was a spur of the moment thing.

Yeah, we're both fine. We're lucky there was a curb there to hit. If it was just a guardrail, we would have gone over. The drop there was pretty nasty.

Turns out I was right. The control arm was bent, so once that is replaced, everything should be fine again. :)

Thats some crazy stuff you guys be doing late at night, why not mess around at some empty lot other than a road?

I'd knew this guy who totalled his car while driving up hill at a high rate of speed and carring three passenger with him. Well, the lucky part is nobody got killed, but one suffered from a broken leg and the other three had dislocated shoulders. The driver almost plung his car down the hill if it hadden for the side rail. He ended up swerving and smashed his car into a rock wall.

We can't do it in an empty lot because we were performing downhill drifts.
