    Quick help needed!

    Were is the ignition coil located on a 99 corolla? Or were can i plug my green wire into the car for my tachometer i cant figuire it out its frustrating me.

    I found a spot on mine by using a voltmeter and probing around in the empty slots in my driver side fuse panel behind the cubby box. eventually I think I found a plug that had +12V when the ignition was on.. I used a spade connector to just plug in to the terminal.

    I would highly recommend getting a voltmeter just to have - they are exceptionally useful and pretty cheap too. Don't want to sound like a killjoy - but buying a $15 voltmeter is cheap insurance to accidentally shorting out some wiring and chasing an electrical problem, or worse, cooking something electrical in the car.

    When I installed my tach I used a power source and light source from the panel to the left of the steering wheel. It has the dimmer for the instrument panel light, and I don't have power mirrors so there was a coin holder that had an electrical harness connected behind it that I got the power from. Then for the RPM signal I went to the harness behind the instrument panel. I'm not sure but its either black or green and its on the side of the guages where the tach would have been and on the circuit board the lead doesn't go anywhere.

    In the back of the instrument cluster. Like I said, there's a wire on the harness that is where the tach should have been. I think its green or black, you should be able to find out which one from the Hayne's

    Wait, is it on the left or right? were the lighter is or were the dimmer on the left side is? and how far back is it because its hard to reach in some places.

    i know what to do i just cant find were to connect the RPM wire, iv tried the black and green wires they dont work.

    I show the tach being a wire on the back of the instrument cluster.
    pin3 Black wire of connector C12

    there is a set of 4 wire connectors
    C12 is the 2rd one from left to right so: C11 C12 C13 C14

    want to just buy a tach from me for $5... err, lunch? I'll even swap it in to your gauge cluster for free if you bring the car back :D I have a complete set of 01 LE gauges sitting here.
