coilover maintenance

    coilover maintenance

    ive heard you need to be serviced every few years or so? is that true??

    just like any other suspension setup.... eventually the struts get worn out and they need rebuilding or replacing altogether

    but if you can afford to spend $1000+ on a proper coilover setup, then the maintenance costs will seem minimal in comparison.

    it's the price you pay for good handling and adjustibility.

    I think every few years is really exaggerating. jcrwzr has had his coilovers for over 3 years now and is still problem free. Coilovers will last just as long as aftermarket struts. If they do leak, you can just get them revalved at a shop. It beats having to replace strut cartridges or the struts themselves. But that would be not for quite a while.

    never heard of servicing a coilovers but the way i maintance my coilover i sprayed wd40 or any lubricated spray on the sleeves and screw bolt so it doesnt get dirty and gets stuck when i lift it high or low,btw i do that every oil change.
