    Who here tans?

    Anyone here tan? I went for the first time last week.....I was in there for 7 minutes, and I got an awesome base tan...went again yesterday for another 7 minutes, and didnt burn this time!

    And yeah, someone on here will say guys going tanning is gay...oh well. I have no time to go lay out in the sun, and I have some beach trips coming up, and I burn easy, so I dont want to worry about getting burned on the beach. Plus dont want to look all white either....

    Those tanning beds are amazing though.

    fnacy boy... JK tanning is fine as long as you don't get on of them orange spray on tans then decide to dye your hair blond and look like a sick horse the rest of the summer... had a boss that did that god he looked funny... but the beds are fine as long as you don't over use them.

    They clean them down in between users. And the heat will kill any germs anyways!

    Nah, no blond tips for me! And hell no on the orangy skin thing....spray on tans are gay!

    :) I'm afraid of the radiation. hah. Kinda paranoid just a little. I've gone before. I would probably do it if I wanted to. Ehh.. too much effort to be beautiful for me.

    The UV radiation will kill all the germs. They use UV light as part of the filtering process for bottled water to kill bacteria. But if some fat oily guy got in there before you and they didn't clean it out, you would have sterilized fat man oil all over you. Thats kinda gross even if it is sterilized.

    i did this back in high school and i had to stop. I got real dark quick but the tanning left some spots on my face. One of the downfalls of tanning. sometimes it leave marks, sometimes it doesn't.

    yeah it affects everyone differently. Some people can get cancer or spots on their skin, some people just burn, and it works well for others...

    I tan really easily. Like stupid easy.
    I can be outside on a relatively normal day (not too sunny, UV index not too high, not too hot) and still get a dark tan in just a couple hours. REALLY dark, like you would think I am part mexican or something (but still look like a whitey).
    However, skin cancer has happened more than once in the family, and it can be HELL. Believe me.

    at this point is not exactly smart to tan since the whole skin cancer risk and what not.... don't trust the sun it might kill ya

    The sun isnt any hotter than it was 100 years ago, so why is today any more dangerous?

    I agree that you shouldnt use tanning beds in excess. At least with the beds, you can control how much sun you DO get.

    well I mean might be a risk but at the same time it couldn't be one u know but I'm just saying that the risk of getting skin cancer is greater now than before that's all. People can choose how to tan however they want to hehe at least I know I don't need to

    it's not the hotness of the sun...it's the rays that cause damage. the ozone is thinner because of pollution, this lets more of the damaging rays (uva & uvb).
