09 Corolla GPS Need some Help

    Hey Guys,
When I bought my Corolla back in March, they didn't have any available with GPS at the time. I asked them how much it would be to add Factory GPS when it was available and the parts guy told me around $5000. Is there a reason(other then its just factory parts) that it would be so expensive. I mean I could probably find the Sensor and GPS Unit online one day for around 1500 total. Why do they charge so much.

Sorry if this is a stupid question

    thanks guys

    ^ pretty much.

I'd look at a pioneer touchscreen system or something else. for under $5000 you can get some of the best aftermarket nav systems out there.

    Why?

Better units exist that can also be updated easier and would give more functionality. Maybe check for toyota parts sites. Maybe TRDsparks?

Harness adapters. They make them for most cars w/ steering wheel controls. You could also plug up the aux port w/ a panel from a base model (most likely) because most aftermarket models have front-facing 3.8mm and/or USB inputs.
