Once in a while, I would go to a car wash because either I'm in a hurry or the car is so nasty I don't want to touch it. This time, the latter is true (I mean, there's a SPIDER living in my driver side's rear view mirror, no kidding!). So I went to the car wash near my place.

Usually they do an okay job...but there was one time when their machine literally put a deep scratch in my passenger rear view mirror. I didn't learn my lesson, and this time...

(Sorry for the quality - my v3's camera is the only digital camera I got)

No, ladies and gents, that's not dirt, that's a GIANT SCUFF THAT RUNS FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM OF MY DRIVER DOOR! Sure the little swirls add an interesting twist, but DAMMIT I'm NEVER going back to another car wash EVER AGAIN!!!!

The next day, somehow I saw the same spider hanging on my rear view mirror. (insert a big wtf here please)

oh screw that, i dragged that mofo on the ground and did it like they do on the streets - i stomped the f**k out of it. It made me feel a bit better...but more importantly, I need something to fix that scuff. Heard from some guy that there's a compound that can fix scuffs. Guess I'll pay pep boys a visit.

Thank goodness for turtle wax! Their rubbing compound saved me from the embarassment of the scuffs :D

But dang they require a lot of labor to rub it in.

In retalliation, I went postal and bought a gang of stuff for doing my own car washes

Car washes are the devil! I took my car to one like 2 weeks after I purchased it brand new and after going though the car wash there was light scratches on the roof and a small dent from there stupid f'ing blowdryer thing driving up the front windshield and onto the roof. If you have to use a car wash use a brushless one.

Use meguair's works very good. Last year in june 04 I went to a car wash in Phoenix, AZ and had a rock chip on my window. The associate took the car cleaned it fully detailed in the inside then took to wash. There is when I got really pissed. They washed then waxed then washed again then polished. The second time it went through the mechanical drier the pressure of the air caused a 1 and a half foot crack across the front of my winshield. i paid the 35 bucks and it wasn't till they brought my car to the front and I was leaving i noticed a big dang crack. i too pissed off that i was not going to try my luck and ask the associate what happend. and then I was in another state away from texas. Later about two days the high 118 degree heat only made matters worse and had an even bigger crack. So when i got back after my cross country trip I bought another window at 200 bucks for a toyota original.
