my review of the 2009 corolla/matrix

after driving around the mt/at 10th gen corollas, im convinced they are the worst i have ever driven. the dash seems to ahve been raised a foot or two and is harder to see out since the seats dont have height adjustment. they pick up nicely thought....the interior is spiffy they have bottle holders in the door sills. but other than that im not really digging it. but thats just my opinion

Well, I wouldn't buy a car based on looks alone. It has to be comfortable and easy to drive. Not being able to see out of the car seems like a logical reason to not like it.

you can see out of the car...its just not like the 8th gen where you can see the front of the hood with ease...

same here the 98-02 model years were the best except for a few 00' models. the 8th gens are great except for backseat space, hehe. for a car this small and this reliable i'm keeping mine. if i buy another car such as the 09' Rolla i don't think it will take long before i start putting shit and buying stuff for it. This is one of the main reasons i bought my benz. Parts are too expensive for me to buy and through away and I really wanted a nice cruiser. i still tear the shit out of my 8th gen and it keeps going. the two best things i love abour it are the braking and handling. sad thing is that i thought it had power until i drove the Benz. but I still love my rolla.

8th gen = last proper corolla built. Everything onwards is bloated fat trailer trash. 10th gen is the worst, such a horrible design, they didnt even bother redesigning the doors. The only thing that was good after 02 was 9th gen XRS, anything else is just utter garbage.

I wish Toyota USA never disontiuned the GT-S coupe trim after 1990.. could you imagine the 2 door Levins rebadged as "Corolla GT-S" rolling around north america? It's weird how there are 2dr camry/solaras b ut no rollas. Leave it to Toyat USA to piss all over the consumers.

You do not like the 10th gen because the dash seems to be raised? You seem to like just about everything else. I have never driven any other corolla other than the one I own. I bought a 10th gen about 2 months ago and it is a great little car.

The looks are great the interior is acceptable the gas mileage is awesome. One thing that is different from the previous gen is the windshield. The service guy said they went larger. I do not know for sure but it is pretty large giving you a nice view. I was told that they also have a new electric power steering. I am able to make a uturn on a dime. I love it. My corolla came with a nav system as well and i thought it was gay at first but is accually a very handy little tool. there are a few flaws that i have noticed.

    1. Blue tooth will not snyc with Iphone.
    2. The sound system isnt that great
    3. The back seat is alot smaller than i had expected.
    4. I dont like when i have my ipod connected that It doesnt sync with the nav system and display there, I still have to control the music from the ipod itself.

Other than that I am pretty happy with this car. I do think once I get some volks on and lower it a little it will be one sexy little car.

well ive only driven my aunts... its base and i mean base model. power nothing! not even cd... must be the lightweight-ed-ness... feels good. better throttle response and torquey from my rolla, then again everything is better than my rolla. my dad works at the cady dealership, and they got in a new vibe gt, and now i must say its niiiiiiiiice.

i agree and i dont understand why toyota discontinue all trd parts for the 8th gen and the 9th gen have all the fun, plus i never did look at the 9th gen(except xrs) as a fixer upper but more a family car.
