yes , the mounts are the same for the most part , the brackets are whats different. the only one that i can tell is really different is the tranny mount , on the drivers side.

keep me updated on those mounts for sure.

as an FYI.... as I'm sure you know the GZE's have an E series trans. The mounts are very close, but not identical... The motormount itself is the same/will bolt up. The trans mounts are not the same, but the C series can be modified to work with an E series easily. I believe the inserts are the same, but those are already readily available (since the AW11's are the same you can use Kirkosaurus inserts.... someone over on MR2OC.com who makes very nice urethane inserts).

    Hey Alby's back!

LOL that was ~7yrs ago.. damn I'm old now.. time has not been kind to me lmao.

For the TRD Japan 3 point, a bit of modification needs to be made to the 3 mounting holes on each side.. all it takes is a dremel and maybe 10 minutes. The holes are a bit too close together iirc so all you need to do is widen them. On the firewall side you need to drill two holes where you see the dimple marks on the firewall. You could use self tapping bolts but the best thing to do is to get behind the firewall by taking off the plastic trim plate between the windshield and hood and weld a plate with two nuts in there so you can use proper machine bolts. Lastly if you still have the4/7AFE, you'd want to grind down the throttle cable bracket where it may hit the bar.

Here are some other 3pt strut bars i've seen over the years:

    Carbing:

    Beatrush/C-one
    [IMG]

and cusco also makes one but I never saved the picture.

the reddish stuff is the primer under the paint.. someone (my boss) tried to strip the paint off, got lazy and left it. I think we were trying to show off our rim refinishing abilities but that display just made it look random... don't look at me:superconf

When I sent my mounts to speedsource the first thing they did were to see if any of their current applications fits my mount, which didn't... so maybe there is also a difference in the diameter of the rubber bushing. But also note that the speedsource setup replaces the entire rubber bushing on the mount.

Not trying to start an arguement but what you had said wasn't too clear and I was just trying to clarify.

At least getting an E series into an AW11 chasis (which all C series mounts are the same AE or AW chasis it doesn't matter).... the rear trans mount C series mount bracket has to be modified and the E series setup won't work as it's off completely by about 1/2" and cannot be modified the same way the C series can (difference of size on the brackets). Front mounts are the same and then you need to use a combination of E and C series mounts in order to use the stock chasis mount. There's a little more to it than the modification of one bracket.... Too bad I don't have old photos of the E58 lsd I sold as I have an e58 with modified mounts to bolt into a stock C series setup sitting in the garage.

    http://home.comcast.net/~kirkosaurus2/MR2_urethane_inserts.html

More than likely you can contact them and try to find the diameters that they currently have, as I know I see a lot of good feedback on his inserts.

i know what you mean tspeed , i had to mix and match mounts and brackets that came with my gze e series and some from my c-series. and then had to pry like hell to get the rear mount to line up to put a bolt thru it. i was just sayin the motor mount and the front tranny mount (by the radiator) is pretty much the same. the different ones i noticed were the ones on the drivers side end tranny mount (usdm) , the back one, i used the bracket that was on the e series , but used the c series mount to mount it to the chassis.

oh yeah dont forget my 3-point yall :D

You did a great job. I love reading buildup threads and watching them grow. Glad I came in at the end though because it would suck having to wait to see it progress. Looks good!

yea that S2000 was built by J's Racing Japan for Time Attacks.. they gave it to N1 last summer since N1 became the J's Racing master distributor. I hoped in that car at the last show, that thing is a PITA to get in and out of!

BTW, I hear P Mar likes to be called Dr. Phil now. lol

Hey is this Wing?? If so this is Chris from NC4 (tall white guy). Anyway whoever it is I bow down to you for running 10kg/mm springs!! That's fucking insanely stiff! You must be unable to run allseason tires with that suspension. It seems like it would overwhelm anything but an r-comp. Love the car.

hey chris, long time no talk buddy! Are you still living in SF? Still have the S? 10kg/mm isnt really that bad but I learned its really not suited for these roads as I feel the car almost going air-born after some big dips on freeways. I will probablly step down to 8kg this summer.

haha, that was about 4yrs ago IIRC.. at the modacar dyno meet right? I swapped to a 5MT about 3yrs back when I sent you a few messages regarding those shifter cable bushings. Then 6mths ago I did a BT + 6MT LSD swap.. it's all documented here.:)

cool. well i have the JDM tails. the ones i saw on ST Marteen had the license plate in the tailpanel like that one does. so someone custom made that? from a JDM center? still looks sweet.

made it myself, basically took the JDM center panel like what you have now and fused it together with the license plate holder/lights assy from a AE92 sedan. cut, epoxy, bondo, paint, done!
