Brake help

    Brake help

    so im looking at my rotors on my rolla and i think i need to replace them their mega shinny and i have to put my foot throught the floor to stop. I wanted some opinions on what i should get. the cheapest is like napa premium or duralast or should i step it up to like brembo replacements or i was thinking something slotted to show off a little.

    brembo blanks or powerslot is good.. it sounds like you need to bleed/flush your brake fluid also

    check brake fluid and pads first. If you are going to replace rotors, I usually recommend OEM. Another which I've had good luck with is PowerSlot Rotors. Your car doesn't have enough power to need brembos.

    rotors wont make a difference in initial braking distance.. that's the job of the pad material. The slots does two thing, to clean the surface between the pad and rotor by evacuating brake dust and to help cool down the rotor thereby reducing brake fade under hard repeated braking.

    maybe my next set of rotors will be powerslot .. right now one of my rotors has a indentation all around the backside of the rotor. After these new brakes go imma replace rotor and brakes.

    yah the brembo are oem replacement not like big break kit and powerslot are a little to pricey for me right now i think i might order the brembos. addressing the brake to the floor, the pads were changed like 2k miles ago and toyota flushed the brake lines when i bought my car in summer of 06 but im kinda skeptical about it there might be a bubble in the lines somehwere

    you should switch to stainless steel braided brake lines while you're at it. get em from techna-fit

    Get refurbished ones. Cheap, effective.

    OEM outsource to many other companies including but not limited to Brembo.. usually the lowest bidder they can trust to make a good product. But earlier we were talking about OEM replacement rotors offered by brembo (sold on tirerack).

    go down to pepboys and get the street heat rotors. i have them on my 94. they cost just as much as their platinum series rotors and they look good too. mine were free though... :D

    I've got Brembo Sport Slotted rotors which are more or less similar to the Powerslots (save the Cryo version maybe), but I'm probably going to get plain OEM replacements this time, since it's been less than two years since I had my brakes done and my pads are already starting to go. Expect a shorter pad life if you do go with slotted rotors.

    I had Rotora Slotted Rotors for over 5 or 6 years and they started to vibrate from being warped so I replaced them with Raybesto OEM rotors. Slotted and/or Drilled Rotors can't be turned so expect to throw them away when they get warped.
