    Fuel Pump seems bad

I was driving yesterday cruising about 20, my celica cut off (2000 gt-s). I was so scared. I thought maybe my chain broke, but my car 100000 miles on it, which is usually early for a chain. I thought maybe it jumped time. Someone told me to check the fuel pump, so when I turn over the key, I don't hear it clicking on. When you try and start it, it like will put put but it won't crank up. Maybe it's a fuse or a relay, but im not sure where they're located at on my car. I got this car 2 weeks ago, and I love it, but there's some problems. Does anyone know where my fuel pump is located, or the fuse/relay for it?

    Thanks alot.

fuel pump is in the tank, I believe that there is an access door under the rear seat.. relay will be in the fuse box in the engine compartment...

I can't explain the cutoff, but no clicking when you are trying to start it sounds like the starter.

It very well could be a clogged fuel pump or fuel filter. I would check the starter too like Deebs said. Also check your plugs and coils. Make sure all electrical connections and hoses are intact.

im not sure if this would apply to your car specifically..

but when you turn the key to on (but not start the car), you should hear 2 clicks:
1 for the main relay 1 for the fuelpump.

If you don't hear the clicks/whirl noise then one of those things are probably not working.

p.s. if you want to find fuses theres a legend on the fusebox cover that labels every fuse you have.

Nah it's not the starter, I can hear it trying to turn over... I poured gas into the throttle body, it still didn't start but it gave a good attempt.. if it was the starter, it would not have just cut off on me when i was driving in the middle of the road. I checked the legend under the fusebox, i couldn't find one for fuel pump. i don't hear the whirl noise that I heard in my jetta either. I should check the fuel filter though.
