    Engine rebuilt or other options

ok so i was talking it over with my mom and a fix is prob gonna cost to much my neighbor said it would cost a lot to fix. she wants to forget the fix but im still on it now i found this site who sells a kit to i guess rebuild the 1zzfe motor the whole like 800 w/shipping
Parts included in these master engine rebuild kits are: Pistons, rings, main and rod bearings, thrust washers (if applicable), jack shaft bearings (if applicable), cam bearings (if applicable), camshaft(s), lifters (if applicable), freeze plugs, gasket set, complete timing kit, and oil pump. http://www.rpmrons.com/Toykits.html

now i realize this is a lot becuase one i need to remove the motor first and then strip it and install all the new parts idk how much this would cost to do i wish i could do this myself but the problem is i need my car and i dont have the time or resources to do this which sux need some thoughts. my mom said we might look into another car but want some opinions on what i should do

Listen to your mom. Get a new car. Engine rebuilds aren't fast or cheap. Labor is going to rape you. It's just not worth it. It would be cheaper to buy a new 1ZZFE and drop it in.

Unless you do everything by yourself, otherwise the it will cost your at least $2000 to rebuild the engine.

I love the xB. It's so roomy for such a small car. It also has a lot of potential. I would gladly trade my car for one. You wanna trade? :D

My friend has one and I love it. First thing to do would be to swap in a 1ZZFE and get the CarverCharger for it. :D

yah i know its sad i do like the xb but i miss the power my rolla had o well have to spend some money to get that power back in my hands. prob gonna get an injen cold air/short ram intake and do some suspension work. then in a little while maybe upgrade to a supercharger from greddy for 2500 which will put it up there with the 2zz motor around 165-170hp woot should be cool but not everything is final yet and ill have to figure out what were gonna do sooner than later.

I would rather have a Toyota Yaris 2 door (Vitz) rather than an xB. more parts available for the yaris and with the manual gear box, that thing is really fun to drive..

yea my dad alway say the same thing when something goes wrong with the car.

But back to the subject, i dont see why cant you just drop another low milage 1ZZ engine in. These engines can be had for way less than a thousand.

It's going to be ultimately up to you to decide whether or not it's worth the investment of installing a new motor. Some would think it's worthwhile, while others would call it a waste of money. It's your car. :)

yah i know my mechanic only gets engines from a few places and the ones in my area arent included so idk what id be able to get around here and idk what kind of condition it will be in. as much as i prob could i dont have the tools, location or time to drop in a new motor which sux ass. i was hoping it wouldn cause a prob and could hold off till the summer but i dont think its gonna happen so well have to see what my mechanic says when he opens it up to see what he can see without ripping the whole thing apart.

where are you located anyways? You could drop a engine with a jack, a cherry picker and a couple of wrenches.
